The level animation films are at today are incredible, especially in Brave. I had no idea what I was going into when I saw this movie and I thought it was well done, everything from story to choices to details were done. Not many writers can use their words to just create another world film has never gone to before and I think this was it, doesn't make a difference regular or 3d but arrows flying at your face sounds better than it is.

It was a great movie for the whole family. It was not at all what I expected but it has a great message for both younger and older viewers. If your family has not already seen it go see it for sure.

Brave is an excellent movie from Pixar. Since Cars 2 was way farfetched, I thought this one would be too, but when I saw it I thought it could be one of the classic stories like Cinderella and Snow White, but it could also be The Hunger Games and Brother Bear. It is honestly best for both genders.

Took the kids and we all loved it. A strong story line with an ethical conundrum. We bought the video.

One of my favourite animations to date. Great power female lead, funny, superb colours, setting, characters and story.

This is a neat little gem with great animation and a story that is interesting and imaginative. I really liked the animation. A well done and entertaining for kids of all ages.

A terrific little story with interesting characters and a delight to watch with children.

I watched this movie two times. I don't find this animated movie special in any way. I like the moral of the movie, but the movie was no way clever or interesting enough to keep me entertained.

I have been waiting for this film for a long time and I know many others have been as well. This film tells the story of a rebellious scottish viking princess. She is forced by her mother to choose a husband, but she runs away in denial. I think the actors had a lot of fun recreating the scottish viking accents and frankly, they did quite a good job. The story was inspired by scottish myths and legends. Although, the story was a little short and lacked some content. The animation was very good. The movie was one of the nicest looking computer animations I have seen this year. Animation is getting a lot better. All in all this is a good, heartwarming animation and I highly recommend you see it. The movie is for all ages.

Adorable story, my daughters absolute fave out of all the Disney's movies.

This movie is just excellent, I saw it about a week ago with some friends of mine and it really just screams out that girls can accomplish anything boys can. That we are our own people and you can't plan our lives for us. We need to learn form our mistakes and wow this movie just said that to me. You guys have to go see it before it's out of theaters.

The animators & writers have created a superb afternoon at the movies. The depth of the scenes, crispness of colors & loving characters have catapulted this story to be a winner for all ages.

Honestly this movie was probably the best movie I've ever seen and it actually made me crave hagus, eww.

Finally a great movie that does not involve the princess needing to be saved by a prince. Excellent film with a great message. I was very pleased to have taken my daughter to this empowering movie. Merida is a princess I am happy to have my daughter aspire to be like.

A fabulous movie for the whole family! Great humor, great story, great message!!
| 10/10 | lucyrae2@ - first review 21.10.2012 - age: 36-49 |
It was okay but nothing special. The story was pretty light and if you've seen the trailers, you've seen the first half of the movie. The message about your fate was weak and comes off like a cheap fortune cookie. The movie looked crisp in 3D but nothing really popped out at you and I imagine it would have just as good in 2D. Guess the days of all Pixar movies being something special are long gone now.

It's a really great movie! But it is a bit violent I was really surprised. But it had a great story!

Took my grandson and was really surprised at how scary it was, not a great movie for a sensitive child...

I saw it on a Disney cruise and my 6 year old is scared of EVERYTHING so I was a bit worried. She wasn't scared at all (and she was really scared of the tiger in Madagascar 3) Awesome storyline for little girls. Funny too!!

Very well done. The dialogue and storyline flowed throughout the movie and kept you interested from start to finish. The animation was just spectacular!

It was very scary at times, more than I had anticipated. My 5 year old was a bit terrified and frankly so was I on occasion.

Outstanding female role modeling. Lots of fun and Merida is my new hero (and I'm over 60) My 12 yr old granddaughter and I went to see it. So glad I did... fabulous movie!
| 9/10 | dusting79@ - 2 reviews 29.8.2012 - age: 50+ |
I loved this movie. A wonderful story with a strong female lead. Merida neither needs nor wants a 'knight in shining armour' to rescue her. This is one you can feel great about your daughters watching.

Different than I expected but in a good way! Loved the story and the focus on mother-daughter relationship. Beautiful animation and music! Funny and heart-warming, a nice family movie!
| 8/10 | cascanej@ - 37 reviews 21.8.2012 - age: 18-25 |
I loved this movie, the accents and dialect were very authentic (sounds like my relatives.) and I loved the Scottish humour tossed in there. I've seen it four times in the theatres and I would gladly go again. I liked the message, something that I have trouble with my own mother. It's a good movie for mothers and daughters as well as children older than seven. The music and the design of the Scottish highlands almost made me swoon. So beautiful, I think it could have went without 3D. Good female role models for young girls in a world full of bad ones. I love Merida and her curly red hair.

Fantastic movie and really enjoyed the 3D. I think this movie has become my new favorite Pixar film. I wasn't expecting it to be so funny. I fell in love with the scenery and loved the details. It actually made me cry at the end and I really appreciated the message it gave out.

Animation: Excellent. Scottish accent: I Adore. Movie? Well, I'll admit I was bored. The previews are funny but the movie is dark. I actually passed out for 10 minutes. My daughter got scared a few times and cried at other parts. I didn't see much new in the storyline that I have not seen 1 million times before. I found it too adult oriented instead of for children.
| 7/10 | prefernothing@ - 127 reviews 2.8.2012 - age: 36-49 |
I didn't actually see this movie, but my mother took my daughter who is 6yrs old to see it. While my mother said it was a good movie, my 6 yr old was a little afraid of some parts and was very emotional about some of the animal parts. Too much violence for young ones, but great for older children is what I was told.

The music, the comedy and girl power all make this a movie to see. Went with the girls and we each thoroughly enjoyed the outing. We sat all the way through the credits just to enjoy more of the Celtic music. Was a light, fun and somewhat unique story.
| 8/10 | amalilly@ - first review 29.7.2012 - age: 36-49 |
Something in it for everyone. Kids loved the fun, easy elements of an animated movie - adults appreciate a story-line that wasn't all royalty, flowers and princesses. Loved the rugged, red-haired character of Merida that stood up for who she was.
