This works as a very good prequel to the Kurt Russell version. If you like the 1982 version, you should like this as well. Great CGI effects, gooey fun, solid acting (especially liked Mary Elizabeth Winstead and her character) I loved the ending of this movie which ties in very well with the beginning of the 1982 movie. Being a huge fan of that 1982 version, I very much enjoyed this prequel.
