This film is a biopic, showing us Margaret Thatcher's roots, why she was so rigidly committed to her Conservative philosophy, how she got to be the first female Prime Minister of Britain, what she contributed, how she fell short, the intense political dynamics of the time, but most of all, the inner workings of her mind as dementia took over, and the remarkable relationship she had with her husband Dennis. Jim Broadbent as Dennis is, as always superb, and only Meryl Streep could have brought Margaret Thatcher so convincingly to the screen. A spectacular performance. She makes us laugh, cry and cheer!
