Although I did not dislike the movie, because of the very good acting by the whole cast, I must say I was annoyed. I am fed up seeing Michael Douglas pull his pants down in about half of the last movies I remember seeing him in. I am fed up seeing him cast as a macho womanizer, with no moral values, and even more so with such a young woman... really! That girl appears less than half Catherine Zeta Jones' age, and sorry, but in my eyes, he is far from being sexy. It's about time he starts playing roles of men his age. On that note, I do look forward to seeing him in the second Wall Street movie. Even though I do not expect him to have much moral values in that movie either (it is about greed..), perhaps he will at least keep his pants on.

The first half of the movie was populated primarily by a series of unlikeable characters. Michael Douglas played the part of an aging, self-centered, pathetic womanizer to a "T" however I could just have easily felt suffocated if I had stayed at home and put a bag over my head. At least the second half highlighted some characters with more redeeming qualities and who were played by two great actors Danny Devito and Susan Sarandon.

Strange movie kind felt bad for the Micheal Douglas character because he was such a jerk... Would of been nice if they provide more back story on why is the way he is...

This film is a parody. It redicules the notion that young women are somehow attracted to "dirty old men" ; even if the very old man has no redeeming virtues or (oh say it ican not be true Virginia) "money". There is some comic relief and a few good laughs. As with any parody, it is fun to watch those who take it seriously. Michael Douglas at his best!!!

I very much enjoyed this movie. Although the theme is serious and at times sad because we obviously all age and we also tend to have mid life crises I was finding myself roaring with laughter through the story. It is a credit to Michael Douglas that he has not dyed his hair or had plastic surgery and although he has aged as we all have he still carries himself quite well. He is very funny and at the same time a sympathetic character. It seems he always plays himself. All the other actors were excellent as well. Susan Sarandon is gorgeoues and talented as is Devito. All in all an excellent movie.

Psychological drama. Great just great. It fits Michael Douglas lilke a glove. My husband and I enjoyed every minute of it. A great performance for Michael Douglas, this role seemed very easy if not natural for him. Would like to see it on DVD as there is a lot of dialogue, and being quite tense by moment, I missed some of it. Never a dull moment in this movie.

A promising start with few laughs here and there. I just found it not to my expectations. *****

Yes, worth seeing. Great performances. Lame-ish plot.

Michael Douglas as a 59 year old man, in real life he's almost 66 and looks every year of it, if not more. Unbelievable, I can't see how he could pull young, attractive women. It's about time he started taking parts suitable for his age.

Douglas gives a wonderful performance. He really highlights the struggles of an aging once important man who battles with his potential immortality. A solid cast whose performances are also good. The movie is surprisingly humourous and though it won't make you ponder too much about the meaning of life, it does give some insight into what we can expect as we age, the importance of meaningful relationships.

Was wonderful. Highly recommend. Better than previews made it look. Beautiful. Moving.

Michael Douglas fares well in this role, but it takes a long time to get around to the explanation about why Ben's on this downward spiral. And, looking as she does, it's difficult to swallow why he'd stray from his wife in the first place. Better character development's needed. Still, not a bad movie.
