Calling this a crime thriller should BE a crime. It's more of a dark comedy than anything and it's a great one at that. I laughed out loud ALOT. Colin Farrell, believe it or not, is actually miscast as the irish guy. I found his acting to be really over the top. However, everyone else (especially Fiennes, Gleeson and the gorgeous Poesy) are perfect in their roles. I found the first half to be average but it picks up so much in the second half that it's a real treat for both the eyes and ears. I didn't like the ending at all so hence the good but mediocre review. I really hope we see more of Clemence Poesy. She's the most beautiful thing I've seen on the big screen in a long time. For a very tragic a bleak motion picture, I was really impressed how it continued to be brutally hilarious and amusing. I can't outright recommend it since I know it won't be everyone's cup of tea, but then again most really interesting movies rarely are.
