I can see both how people would love or hate this film. Unfortunately, there is a lot more focus on the hijinks of the children than on the mysterious creature. This means your tolerance of the child actors will determine your enjoyment of the movie, much like "The Goonies". If you expect this to be another Cloverfield, you will be let down.
