Blows my mind how many people watched and liked this. I suppose the flag waving may have appealed to the Americans, but I can't explain that Canadians liked this garbage too. Just because you spend a lot of money in the making of something doesn't mean you are under no obligation to spend a nickel on the writing. This movie represents that single biggest problem with too many action movies, forgoing writing for big explosions and bells and whistles. Personally, even the bells and whistles were fairly unspectacular. At the end, the President's heroics were like the final stamp of stupidity, even on top of the fact that the President was played by Bill Pullman. Stupid, weak and lame.
