Wow and I thought the days of movies about cops who was street wise and could kill 100 criminals by himself where over. Guess not, anyways Ethan Hawke and Laurence Fishburne where awesome gotta give em that superb film. Action packed and hilarious.

When I saw this movie I was very surprise that it was much better then I expected there was a lot of action & tense moments so sometimes don't listen to the critics and you judge the movie for yourself.

I loved it. But I also love cop movies. If you like cop movies you will like this.

Unapologetic macho violence. The girls are pretty and the men swear and have large guns. It's not as good as die-hard- but it is a cut above a van diesel flic.

One of the things that bothers me is that: There's handful armed-to-the-teeth bad guys killed trying to breach the police station but those good guys only utilize the weapons taken from dead guys. They could have used the BULLET-BROOF VEST but somehow decided not to and ran around unprotected from flying bullets.

I was a little disappointed with the final results. I anticipated a 7/10 but didn't even get that. It's just that a couple scenes bothered me. How could all this noise be made and nobody can hear a thing. We see at the end the precinct is not that far off from the real world. Also, the snipers missed when they shouldn't have and they missed some good opportunities to put the good guys away once and for all.

Not bad. Entertaining and susppenseful. Some twists that you do not expect. Overall, worth seeing.

It was a good movie, perhaps in certain secenes they could of made it a bit better. But all in all it was a good movie.

If you are looking for something original in an action movie don't go see this movie: it's full of clichés but still it's moderately entertaining and good for a sunday matinee. Ethan Hawke & Laurence Fishburne are good actors.
| 6/10 | silverpepsikid@ - 58 reviews 6.2.2005 - age: 26-35 |
Very good movie. If you like action movies you'll enjoy this one.
| 9/10 | bradf@ - first review 4.2.2005 - age: 26-35 |
I was happy with this movie. Until I found out that it's a remake of a 30 year old B Movie. It has the same tilte and plot, just the action is updated to fit the new milenia a bit better. What was the point of reduing it unless you could improve on it somehow. Hollywood is out of ideas and this was just another money grab.
| 6/10 | cliffa@ - 213 reviews 31.1.2005 - age: 36-49 |
I thought this was a fantastic movie. I, like many others, went in with little expectations... other than a superb performance by Laurence Fishburne... and I was definitely NOT let down! This is the smartest action movie out there with surprises you wouldn't expect from a traditional american action flick. A definite must see in my book.

Although I know a lot of people that didn't like the movie, I personally loved it. I found that I got really into it and kept wanting to know how the heck they were going to get out of the situation alive. The extent to which cops can become corrupt is unbelivable. I found the cast to be very good and entertaining and I loved the ending! Overall vey good movie!

Very intense action. The movie, although is a little predictable... was quite entertaining... fishbourne and Hawke were quite good.

The movie was awesome! It was full of action. I recommend you go see it!
| 9/10 | isabelle_derry@ - 5 reviews 27.1.2005 - age: 18-25 |
Awesome piece of B-movie action. If solid suspense, strong acting, break-neck pacing and tons of in-your-face violence are your "turn-ons", go check this one out. Others, well, "Are We There Yet" is probably playing on the screen next door.
| 8/10 | deschamps_joe@ - 9 reviews 27.1.2005 - age: 26-35 |
The only things I want to say is... Go watch it.

The acting is good by a couple of the lead characters, and theres exciting but unintelligent action. The poor script is full of so many holes any semi-perceptive or intelligent person may get distracted by them. There are really too many to list them all. The characters are shallow templates for the most part. I like how Ethan's character throws away his pain-killers whilst not considering them helpful to his friends with extremely painful bullet wounds. One of many gems. If you go see this movie go drunk, It'll help you ignore the horrible writing.

1st good action movie I saw since Goldeneye. Not the same type at all, but I'm talking entertainment. This was intense.
| 10/10 | nadeau888@ - 3 reviews 25.1.2005 - age: 18-25 |
It was great! I was so sick of seeing those bloody walt Disney action movies where everyone survives and all that crap. Go see it!
| 9/10 | elkwolf@ - 4 reviews 25.1.2005 - age: 13-17 |
Man this movie was so not what I expected. There is abosolutely NO story line. It is action from the beggining [...] The action scenes are cool but thats all there is. This movie is not something that makes you go wow at the end. Your just like what? Thats it? What the hell was that!
| 5/10 | alexisbosse@ - 10 reviews 24.1.2005 - age: 18-25 |
I really liked this film considering I knew nothing much about it going in (hasn't been much press for it... ) Acting was great, Laurence Fishbourne is awesome in this role. Wouldn't say this movie was predictable though, I wasn't sure how they were going to get out of this one. Ending was a little weak, but I still thoroughly enjoyed this film. I highly recommend this one.

I usually end up guessing the plot twists, but somehow they got one over me, so for that reason I gave it a "Not bad" rating, since being a girl this isn't my usual kind of movie to go to.
| 6/10 | magenta2red@ - 9 reviews 23.1.2005 - age: 36-49 |
This was an amazing movie! Laurence Fishburnes first movie after The Matrix and he is brilliant. Ethan Hawk always is amazing. The directing was very inteligent and there was great humor form time to time. Absolutly go see this movie!

For those of you u have been watchin alot of the recent releases this movie should bring in a very much needed change of genre. In my opinion I think thats one reason for the succcess of this movie. The other reason being this movie brings is a gr8 action movie... dont go in prepared to see anything else. Jus enjoy the good action.

This movie rocks outta the blue, boy! A lot of action, not too gory but enough realism. Great movie, filled with action, good thrills, suspense not to mention great acting from lead the characters, Hawke and Fishburne. The overall ending was a little too predictable, and could have been a bit more spontaneous. A must see flick for the New Year. Let it be right!

This movie was really really bad. I can usually take a bad movie and find good things about it, but I was at a loss for words. The movie didn't make sense, this is an American movie so why didn't they just blow up the precinct with missles and nuclear weapons. The only part I liked was the beginning when Ethan Hawke was a drug addict. Well if you really really like watching people shooting people in the head then go see it! You'll love it!
| 3/10 | megwest@ - 3 reviews 22.1.2005 - age: 18-25 |

This was a great suspense movie! VERY suspenseful all the way to the end. Kind of a weak ending but some nice surprise twists! Some REALLY funny parts too!!! The camera work was a bit dizzy at times and the snow made it very difficult to see some scenes. All in all - it's a definite must see for those who enjoy suspense!
| 9/10 | jasmine_h18@ - 5 reviews 22.1.2005 - age: 18-25 |
This movie is not the worst thing I've ever seen but still not that good. I keeps you entertained for a good 2 hours and thats about it. Not really worth seing in theaters, but certainly worth seeing.

I was dissapointed with how many plot holes were in this movie. You could get the whole S. W. A. T. team through them. The acting is very good, although they are only permitted to be one dimensional caricatures. The ending is not predictable and the whole movie is quite suspenseful with plenty of shooting. The director seems to have a fetish for the eyes with most people being shot right between the eyes or getting something impaled right in your eye (that's gotta hurt! ) Go see it if it is free.
| 5/10 | arthurlust@ - first review 20.1.2005 - age: 36-49 |
It was good, but it totally gives S. W. A. T. a bad name. You never know what's going to happen next.

Hey, it's Hollywood, so expect cliches and stereotypes and whatnot. Those aside, through, this movie is really not bad. The level of violence is just right, not gory but... realistic (enough) The "feel" of competency on the bad guys part are higher than other action movies (althrough still, good guys have to win so bad guys have to... you know. ), and one or two unexpected moments. An entertaining action movie that don't have it's head in the clouds like the others do.
