A movie about a couple moving through loss, how they cope differently. The focus is really on NIcole Kidman's character, how she tries to find a path through without knowing the way. Really could be a story of any kind of loss, a parent, a spouse. While this is a story that has a child's death at it's core it stays away from extreme emotion much of the time as the couple is at the point of breaking up or healing, not a the initial stage of grief. Very real performances by both Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart. It has the sensibility of a play rather than high drama, and I say that in a good way, but it may explain some of the other comments here.
