It's a good movie at the end of the day. The only problem is people who have read the books and in particular seen the Swedish original can predict everything that is going to happen in this movie. It's brilliantly put together by Fincher with muscular direction and dark menacing cinematography that captures this frightening world. Rooney Mara as Lisbeth Salander is the best selling point in the movie with an eye-catching performance with scenes of sexual degradation that was shot-by-shot similar to the original. After seeing the original the villian would be obvious to everyone and therefore little surprise and suspense for the audience. The one's who would find this an instant classic are those who haven't seen the original but for everyone else who has seen the other movies the film becomes pointless!!
