There were so many amazing films in the year of 2007, and The Assassination of Jesse James was the best. Yes There Will Be Blood was given a higher rating than this, however, that film is in a league of its own because it's not the best movie of the year, it was the best movie of the century. The Assassination of Jesse James is the best movie of the year because it's too good to be called one of the best movies of the year. Brad Pitt pulls off one of his greatest performances, and Casey Affleck supports this film with the greatest job. Yes to most it's slow and boring. But there was a magic feel to this movie that gave this film substance. It felt real, alive, and beautiful. Probably the best western we've seen since Unforgiven. Outstanding.
