Visually interesting, but just not in a major way, 3D is pointless to this. Note that James Cameron is only one of MANY "executive producers", and seems to have had little real role in this film that I can see. The plot is achingly predictable, with shallow characters and if you have seen the trailer, you have seen all the high points. If I had seen it for free, that would have been fine, but I felt like my money was not well spent here. Not a bad movie, no doubt technically difficult to make, just not impressive. I think many will be hugely let down if they thought this was the major effort "after-Avatar" in some way from Cameron, but just keep in mind his role seems to have been largely decorative here.
