I really like the way the director depicted Victorian England - almost always in shades of grey, dreary, raining, dirty with soot and humanity as one might imagine it. The main characters were were well cast and played but somehow I never imagined Sherlock and Watson to be such rascals and always pictured them to be rather more dignified and straight laced. Nevertheless I can accept this interepretation and otherwise throughly enjoyed the film. It seems that Guy Richie has left room for a sequel as Sherlock's arch nemesis is obliquely introduced.
