The movie was pretty good, the acting was well done, Vivek especially did a really good job. I wish there were more scenes between Kareena and Saif though. However, the movie does try to explore terrorism and relevant issues, which has not been seen in movies lately. The message of Islam being a peaceful religion should have been portrayed in more scenes, although it was stated, it was just said too quickly or towards the end. The story also needed to be more consistent, but overall the movie was a good attempt.

Anita Storr is truly outstanding in the role of a NYPD officer. Absolutely outstanding film.

The first Bollywood movie I've been able to sit through. Acting, lighting, dialoque, directing have all improved. The worst aspect was the music, as some of the 'high tension' music was played before it was appropriate and didn't fit some of the scenes. Hollywood is too scared to make a movie involving Islamist terrorism but Bollywood is not. Bombay/Mumbai is their home they've experienced it first hand. The live with it that threat on a daily basis. If Bollywood keeps making movies that Hollywood won't, and keep the quality high, their movies will become more popular in the West.

Was not a movie like the other bollywood movies, had a different storyline and tried to explain us why muslim people have different thoughts and how they are. Overall, it was a good movie.

First of all this movie was anti-Islamic, there are lots of movies which deal with the issue of Terrorism but Kurbaan failed to show the full picture of this concept. The saying goes like " there are always 2 sides to a story"... nevertheless even if you ignore this, Kurbaan is totally flawed bollywood movie to the highest extent of foolishness and ignorance... in Kurbaan there was no concept of "calling 911"... a man beats his wife in the middle of the night on the street where she screems no one is bothered not even Avantika who saw what happened... any normal person will call 911... the director thought of shooting in NY but he did not study the law and order of the place, he showed it as it happens in the sub-continent region... Mrs avantika (Kareena) enters the neighbour's basement alone (to investigate) which was foolish for a university professor living in NY all her life!!!.. later when Journalist Riyaz Masud (Vivek Oberoi) finds out the message about abt the bomb in the airplane and this message was enough to detain Ehsaan Khan (Saif ali Khan) and his partners but instead of going to the FBI he joins their gang trying to prove something which I did not get what!!! It was because of this mistake that subway plan was half successfull, and it would be full successful if ehsaan Khan would not fall in love... which was again totally bullshit and rubbish to an extent that I wanted to slap karan johar and company so hard on the face...

It depends what you are going to see a Bollywood 'Escapsim Movie' or a Bollywood 'Attempt at Realism' Movie! Don't bother if your after a love story, a comedy or something where you do not wish to relate to reality! But yes do watch if you wish to look at another viewpoint of Terrorism that affects us all today in the modern world. Yes there are loose ends and certain scenes where you think really as viewers we are far more intelligent! But apart from the few minor faults, Kurbaan is a very honest attempt from a film making point of view to address issues from the other side! It's a hard hitting, movie that leaves an open discussion!

For a Hindi movie, this one is VERY GOOD. Plus some extra attraction for first generation immigrants like us -- yes several similarities with the lead characters, like looking for a home to buy in a foreign land, meeting other families from different cultures, getting used to the subway system, etc. The songs too are pretty good. Kurbaan has been shot in a very Hollywood fashion which is a big step forward for Indian movies. It's definitely much better than the similarly themed "New York" and "Fanaa". But two things I didn't like: one, I wish Saif had emoted more and the romance would be highlighted a lot more in the later 2/3 of the film; and two, WHY DIDN'T KAREENA DIAL 911? I therefore cut two points and give this movie a 8 out of 10! But go see it on the big screen!!
