Surprisingly touching. The film does manage to reinvent the Planet of the Apes mythos, while sending a few clever winks to the original series (some of them for the public at large, other, quite obscure ones, obviously aimed at hardcore POTA geeks) Technically extremely impressive! Cast in my vote for a Best Actor Oscar for Andy Serkis. NOTE: Don't be in too much of a hurry to stand up and leave the theatre, when the end credits start to roll... Keeping with the tradition of previous films in the series, this one does have a very nice twist at the end, and rushed people could simply miss it.
