A sad, dreamy, rather ethereal movie about pain and grief and forgiveness and redemption. Oh, yeah, and there's some stuff about a duplicate Earth, but don't let that fool you into thinking that this is standard sci-fi - the otherworldly plotline serves primarily as a quirky metaphor for the second chances in life that we all yearn for. It doesn't always work, but when it does, it's poignant, moving and thoughtful. (Incidentally, William Mapother, who plays John Burroughs, is Tom Cruise's cousin.)
