Full of action, obviously over the top and not realistic (it is a movie after all) I would have liked to see a bit more of the big picture regarding what was happening in the rest of the country, but other than that, I don't understand how people who were drawn to the movie (probably after seeing the previews) and didn't enjoy it. It's not a masterpiece, but quite entertaining none the less.

It was a good movie but it didn't really have an ending, so there was no solution.

The remake of "Red Dawn" isn't without its problems but is in some ways an improvement on the original. As in the 1984 film the premise may be difficult for people to swallow but the movie is set up with plenty of exposition to show how and why this invasion would happen. You may have to suspend your disbelief, but if you think of this as a science fiction film set on a parallel earth, you shouldn't have any problem with it. What you will have trouble with is the characters that do not feel fleshed out and the poorly shot action sequences, which are so frantic and shaky that you will have trouble understanding what is going on, especially when it comes down to the to hand to hand combat. The film has a lot of energy and the ending is much cleaner than in the original film. While it isn't anything to rise up and cheer about, it's entertaining and if you've ever played a video game where you single handedly turned the tide on an entire war and thought to yourself that it would be awesome if you could do that in real life you'll have a good time.

This movie was well done. It had pretty much everything that makes a good movie: Good story, subtle comedic scenes, action and much more. This movie kept me on the edge of my seat. I recommend seeing this movie.

I too am a bit puzzled by the bad reviews this movie is getting. It's a remake, and almost exactly like the first. It takes someone 2 minutes to do an internet search and know exactly what you getting. The remake adds in updated special effects from the 30 year old version. Then changes the location from Colorado to Washington state and moves the Guerrilla warfare from the countryside into the city. Oh, and removes the references to a nuclear strike and replaces it with a blackout. Lol. Anyway, lots of the original movie is still there with just better special effects added.

The story is so realistic all the way through the movie, everything that happened could happen in real life it. So when you are watching it feels like your part of the movie. And how each actor fits in to their characters. Also the story makes you want to make a difference and be a patriot.

Fresh and fine, it's a remake and a good one, it is worth seeing it. Not a master piece obviously but it brings it.

Not sure why everyone seems to hate this movie so much. To me it delivered on what was promised. Good action and lots of it. Some aspects of the original were better and some were better in this version. The first one did a better job of showing a believable progression of kids learning to be guerrilla fighters. In this one they seemed to be natural born killers right from the get go. But there are a few slow spots in the first one, (just re-watched it) There are no slow spots in this one. It's a roller coaster ride right from the beginning. Saw this on a guy's night out with three buddies and we came away satisfied. Oh and for those vilifying this movie for the plot, IT'S AN ACTION MOVIE NOT A DOCUMENTARY!

It was pretty good, lots of action but the story went by kinda quick like for example Chris Hemsworth was saying that they have to get back their town and then it just skipped to them shooting a bunch of soldiers and the ending sucked.

Boring, boring, boring, dull and mindless Hollywood drivel. Bring your pillow and blanket along...

Stupid propaganda. Don't recommend unless you're brainwashed by Hollywood and "free" mass media. Can't believe that such movies still linger. I wonder who decides what to put on and on what grounds?

Totally bad and gag with a spoon bad. Incoherent and a story so convoluted and awful, they should pay you to see this junk.

This is an atrocious film and is a total bomb! There is also a fair bit of violence and not suitable for children. I did not like the film and did not find any redeeming qualities for it. Keep away!

FREAKIN'AWFUL pic. What a bad story and just explosions going off doesn't cut it. I hate to see such a waste of good film and crews. Too bad.

This is sooo bad that it never has a chance from the get go. Some good action sequences but still dead in the water. Terrible convoluted story is what kills it.

I give it a 9 because they ended the movie very bad. They could add a bit more scenes to it and it would be a "MUST SEE" movie, at then the end, they are at the cell where they keep the prisoners and right when the action started the movie ended. I was upset by that but other than that it was a great movie!

Laughably bad. If you enjoy a good laugh watching cheesy movies, might be worthwhile... otherwise avoid it. Saying that Josh Peck should be considered for worst actor of the year for this performance gives him too much credit for implying that he is capable of acting.

It's not as good as the original but it's worth checking out if you haven't seen the original it's got good action scenes and a pretty decent cast of actors.

Very bad story. Last half hour is shot in the dark, cannot make out most of the scenes. Like the 1984 version, does not say much how the rest of the US states are staying out of the fight. Just a very bad Hollywood version of the movie that was ignored again and lacks character.

I just want to tell people who are considering watching this film, DON'T! This is the dumbest film I have ever seen. If you have half a brain and don't like a movie just because it's loaded with cute young actors/actresses, never consider this one. After watching this, even the producer must be ashamed of the film he produced.

This movie is the worst movie I have ever seen. Very bad story, so unreal, bad bad acting, boring and pure American propaganda. I mean how can kids who have never shot a gun fight against an army!! Very unrealistic. I think Hollywood is running out of ideas!!

This movie is terrible, very bad. Bad story, very bad acting, boring. Young guys who never used guns, suddenly are heroes, start to fight against an army, what an imagination. Disaster!

Wow, the perfect mixture of action and Hollywood nepotism rolled into one movie. I liked the original because you could see the action. The new one is extreme close ups during action sequences so you have to use your imagination to tell you what is going on.

We are in the 21st century and the way North Koreans invaded the West Coast is not credible. Sometimes, it is so ridiculous that it will make you laugh. And Josh Peck does not help at all! Well, if you don't pay for it, you might be advertised.

I can't help but think how ironic/hypocritical it is considering the US invasion of Iraq.

It's call of duty modern warfare 2!!! Lol. Could've been nice if all were soldiers and battling it out in the cities. If you were a gamer you would understand the movie. So it's all good.
