Not what I was hoping for :( the preveiw for this movie showed all the good parts, and it reminds me of single white female. They must be running out of movie ideas for them to start making movies that are almost the same.

The Roomate as one thing going for them, the very attractive cast. You would think that this movie was made as a CW network original movie version of Single withe female since most of it's star comes from a CW show. Having said that, I have to say that this movie was atrocious. Nothing in the script work and for a movie that suppose to scare you a make you jump, I does the complete opposite. In fact the fight sequence at the end pretty much made me laugh. Finally, I got to give it to Leighton Meester. She is very convincing as the psycho roomate Rebecca and through I was really bored throughout the movie, at less she made my experience less of a bore.

Wouldn't recommend this at all. Not even worthy of a Friday night rental...

Déjà-vu kind of story--geared for the teenagers and younger crowd-

This movie wasn't bad at all... I usually don't like horror films, but I loved this one. It could have been better, because I could tell what was going to happen next, but overall I liked this movie. :)

I find it very unrealistic, if there would be a roomate who would be as obsessed with a girl, the girl would have noticed and done something about it. I don't think there is enough action. What I really didn't like was that at one part the roommate kills a baby cat. Overall, it isnt awful but, I've seen much better.

I personally loved this movie. I hate all the people who think they know all about acting and directing and say it was horrible. The acting by Leighton Meester was incredible. She did the best acting and she captured her role so well. For a good movie you need good actors, and she was great. Yes, it IS a remake of Single White Female, stop saying it's a bad modern version. It wasn't too scary, you don't know what she will do next which is always good. The soundtrack was awesome, the songs were really well done. Overall, go see this movie if you enjoy movies and acting, not to get scared. It was a must see, no matter what other people say. Everyone's opinion is different so who knows, you might like it just as much as I did. ;)

Hilarious! But if your going to watch it, don't WATCH THE TRIALER! Everything single thing is in it :P
| 9/10 | vagd_vsk@ - first review 22.2.2011 - age: 13-17 |
The only reason I went to see this is because my 12 year old daughter wanted to see it. Which is the age this movie is geared towards plus the fact that the characters are Vampire Diaries actors. This is almost an exact remake of Single White Female... pet dies... boyfriend dies... copies her roommates appearance. I could have written this script!!
| 6/10 | janetc@ - first review 21.2.2011 - age: 36-49 |
I really found this movie poorly acting and just predictable. This has to be the worst movie I have ever seen in years because it's a thriller with no thrills or scares.

It's so good it's amazing, see it, I don't care what anyone else says, see it now!
| 3/10 | aqua-horse@ - 4 reviews 20.2.2011 - age: 26-35 |
The movie was ok... just ok, but it was so predictable. At one point, I was like then she's going to do this... and that... It wasn't even scary.

Bad modern day remake 'Single White Female'. Really bad!!!
| 2/10 | ladyboss99_99@ - first review 19.2.2011 - age: 26-35 |
Not a boring part in this movie, at times on the edge of my seat.
| 7/10 | soniaroy@ - first review 19.2.2011 - age: 36-49 |
I was curious about why this movie opened at #1 and so figured it couldn't be too bad. Well, the plot was very predictable - I found myself saying "And now she's gonna..." and "he's going to..." Leighton Meester was alright as a tortured schizophrenic but no base cause was ever mentioned or implied. Minka Kelly was just a pretty face in her role, completely forgettable. It wasn't a drama or a horror movie... maybe comedy?.. because the man a few rows behind us kept laughing throughout the movie! We didn't have to pay for these movie tickets but I even felt that I wasted my free tickets on this one. Spare yourself.

A must see if you're 12 or 13. If you're not a pre-teen, you'll find this movie hilarious. A 2 out of 10 at the very best.
| 2/10 | notmyemail@ - first review 17.2.2011 - age: 26-35 |
Predictable, laughable and poor acting. Leighton Meester should stick to tv.
| 3/10 | dennispower@ - 39 reviews 17.2.2011 - age: 36-49 |
I think this was a must-see movie. It was realistic and jumpy and it made you think "wow this could happen".
| 10/10 | moviegirl237@ - 5 reviews 16.2.2011 - age: 18-25 |
Not bad at all... I understand everything and never fell asleep... it's not a waste of money... you will actually enjoy it if you really know how to understand a movie... stop saying plot is bad, ending is bad... and stop telling that director is bad... what do you guys know about directing? Anyway, I love it and enjoyed it...

This is the most terrible movie I've ever seen in my life, it was so bad that is was funny and that ruined the entire image, the girl is sexy which is why I give it a one but otherwise I recommend watching something as bad as nocho librarie instead of watchin this I'd be more entertained watching will Farrell taking a **** than watching this.

I liked this movie but it could have been better. It's not scary at all but I don't think it's a baaad movie. You won't go crazy over it but you won't regret seeing it.

| 7/10 | sexxybitchh@ - first review 12.2.2011 |
Poorly acted, ineptly directed and just bone-wearyingly boring. Save yourself 2 hours of tedium and stay home watching the washing machine spin. I promise you that will be more interesting.
| 2/10 | anthonyjflynn@ - 22 reviews 11.2.2011 - age: 36-49 |
Boring, definitely would not classify it as a 'horror' movie... it wasn't scary at all. Most of the theatre would laugh when something 'creepy' happened... lots of cheesy scenes. Although Leighton Meester did a great job of playing a completely different role from Gossip Girl, but just not a great movie overall.

I'm a guy and I LOVED IT. I went with my gf, and we were both freaking out. I saw other couples and friends being scared too. Go see it! Such an amazing movie.

This movie is the worst horror film. I expected it to be better and more scary but it wasn't it was like the quarter till the movie was done till all the scary stuff started happening and that little stupid Rebecca girl is psycho that was like the whole movie.
| 4/10 | tanya_fairy_queen@ - first review 11.2.2011 - age: 13-17 |
It wasn't great but not that bad either. Not very many horror or thriller parts. A bit of a let down.

Had to find out as it's top at the Box Office 15.0M Spooky, sick psychological thriller as its name *The Roommate*, a deranged college freshman (Leighton Meester) who becomes obsessed with her new roommate (Minka Kelly) You could picture life at College fill with surprises, good and bad one. This movie scared you of and left you with... you never knew whom you would meet and had for your Roommate!! Love the movie.

One of those movies that's so awful it's fantastic... Maybe not worth seeing at the cinema but rent it for sure!
| 7/10 | sally.freeman@ - first review 9.2.2011 - age: 26-35 |
The movie was almost more funny than scary. It felt long and took forever to get to the point. Seen this plot in many movies, nothing different. Thank you for not making it 3D and wasting more money.
| 5/10 | ruslan@ - 7 reviews 9.2.2011 - age: 26-35 |
This movie sucks. I see like 1 or 2 movies a week, and this is one of the worst I've seen in a looong time. Obviously I didn't expect it to be great, but I thought it might be at least a little entertaining. It wasn't. I laughed out loud accidentally in the final act like 3 times. Aaand that is not what they were going for. Lame.
| 2/10 | andrew_atkinson_@ - 35 reviews 8.2.2011 - age: 18-25 |
Stupid. I love horror movies and I find that frankenstein in the 70's is scarier than this. Bad job director!

So pretty much, if you like comedies go see it. If you are looking for a horror film, don't go and see it... it was actually hilarious. LOOL.
| 4/10 | megan_h159@ - 2 reviews 8.2.2011 - age: 13-17 |
To be honest, this movie was better than I expected it to be because it kept my attention, and I wasn't bored while watching it. The plot was interesting, and the acting was good. However, the plot could have been developed better, and the acting/characters at times were a bit excessive/over dramatic. I didn't find it to be dull like other movies where you know what to expect as I was pleasantly surprised. It's not an utterly amazing movie-but-it was enjoyable, and better than I anticipated it to be.

Disappointed--an okay movie--but not really scary and not realistic--most of the action and scary parts wera at the finale--bot recommended for the very young.
