So much better than the first movie, which is rare. Never a dull moment, the dialogue was very well written and delivered.

Not as good as the first one. Good action, bad story. Little disappointed.

Great film! Just as good as the first if not better. Definitely didn't disappoint. Robert Downey Jr is wonderful and hilarious in this role, the perfect Sherlock Holmes. It was also so nice to see Noomi Rapace in a leading role. She is the star of the Stieg Larsson-Swedish film trilogy, and most notably the original version of "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo".

The movie is so long and the story so lame those slow motion supposed action scenes ok in first movie but way overdone in this second take.

This movie was really good, lots of action, too bad we didn't see a lot of Rachel McAdams but oh well still good!

I thought it was equal if not better than the first, which is often hard to do. The smartest thing I did is to avoid seeing any trailers.
| 9/10 | barr.brian@ - first review 21.1.2012 - age: 36-49 |
Excellent film! Would've stayed in the theater to watch it a second time to see elements I missed the first time!
| 9/10 | bella_3336@ - first review 21.1.2012 - age: 36-49 |
This movie was entertaining. Robert Downy Jr. was great. Plot is interesting enough to keep you going, but somewhat predictable. Overall, a fun movie to see.

Wow! Great movie, it's amazing and really worth seeing!

I loved the first one and LOVED the second one also!!! Can't wait to see if a third one will come... the end of the second one made me think there will be a third one!! It's funny, has a lot of action and is so brilliantly put together!!

Once again, great jobs done by RDJ and Jude Law. They make a hilarious team. Good action all the way through the movie. I thought this was a bit better than the first movie but my wife liked the first one better. Either way, it's mostly action and good fun.

Thought the storyline was weak, not much character development = flat characterization. Acting was okay for the script but with no substance to work with, came across as mindless chatter. I went to the movie based on reviews and was sorely disappointed. Fell asleep despite making every effort to stay awake. Movie was about half way through when I just wanted it done with.
| 4/10 | sdanibrown@ - first review 18.1.2012 - age: 36-49 |
I went to see this movie to be entertained and I was. It's a virile Sherlock Holmes but a good one nevertheless. It's an action movie that has brawn AND brains which is a rarity these days. It's also funny. I liked it as much as the first installment. Robert Downey seems to enjoy himself more than ever and it's quite evident.
| 8/10 | mikeddf@ - 58 reviews 18.1.2012 - age: 36-49 |
Better than the first. Good cinematic, script and, of course, acting from both men.
| 9/10 | ghookimaw@ - first review 18.1.2012 - age: 18-25 |
If you have nothing else to see or do, go see it. Typical of the series of these movies. But I noticed that it was hard to understand the dialogues at times. The blend of British and North American accents, does nor really work well all the time. And this was annoying.

Amazing! I've already gone to see it twice and might go a third time! The best movie I have seen in a long time!
| 10/10 | iluvkenshin@ - first review 18.1.2012 - age: 18-25 |
It was good. Didn't need to see it in the theater... didn't see it in 3D, there is an obvious scene that was shot exclusively for the '3D' audience. Has a couple good laughs.

Excellent movie; entertaining and suspenseful. Well written and well acted.
| 9/10 | mjs@ - 5 reviews 17.1.2012 - age: 50+ |
Visuals are amazing. Like the last film Robert Downey steals the limelight. I was expecting more from Noomi Rapace's first english film but her character was just ok. The story line was way too detailed, but overall an entertaining film.

I love Robert Downey Jr. as Sherlock Holmes and expected this movie to be as good if not better than the first one. Unfortunately, I didn't feel this second Sherlock Holmes movie was as good. Perhaps my expectations were set too high. Either way, it was an enjoyable movie and I would recommend it to anyone. I feel Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law make a good team as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson.

It was good. I think I enjoyed the first one better, but this one was far more fast paced. Overall, very good.

I really liked this movie. Good action, great acting but some scenes like the one on the train just too much rapid fire action that some could've been cut to allow you too really focus and absorb all the great visual effects they put into this movie. Will go see the next one but I hope they see this message.

Awesome and funny. Love Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law together what a fantastic duo. This movie was exciting and worth a watch.
| 8/10 | didi@ - 202 reviews 14.1.2012 - age: 50+ |
There were some great action sequences but some seem to be in there to showcase the special effects more than the story. The story is confusing and some of the scenes do not seem relevant to the plot. Still it is a fun movie to go see.
| 7/10 | spikemarlin@ - first review 14.1.2012 - age: 50+ |
I enjoyed this one much more than the first one. The pace was better and the storyline was far more engaging. I thought the acting was solid as well. Loved Stephen Fry's cameo.

Dreadful. Very boring. Narrative mess. God knows what Guy Ritchie was thinking about when he directed this.
| 2/10 | tamcho10@ - 22 reviews 11.1.2012 - age: 36-49 |
A true Sherlock Holmes type of movie that should make the writers proud. Excitement throughout the entire movie!

I'm [...] now and I remember the first Sherlock Holmes film that I saw on TV in the mid '50's. Hound of the Baskervilles, starring Basil Rathbone. Done in black and white, eerie settings, fog on the moors. What a great film. There have been numerous actors down through the years that have done Sherlock Holmes and in my opinion the best portrayal was that of Jeremy Brett. Google him and you'll see what I mean. Now to the film. I found it completely intriguing. It had all the elements of a Sherlock Holmes mystery. The Victorian settings in England and on the Continent were superb, especially those of the castle at Reichenbach Falls. As done in many other films of this genre, there are foreshadowing clues, that when they happen, you don't really connect them, not knowing that they will re-appear, and when they do, you see them, and then it becomes clear. This film did very well at showing the "relationship" between Holmes and Watson. Having seen the 2009 Holmes on TV, I knew I had to see the next installment. Great film.

What a piece of work, the visual arts, the adventures, the connection between Law and Downey superb and of course the music, sensational, totally captivating. Enjoyed every minute!

A really fun clever romp of an action film. Better than the first one. I hope they shoot a third installment. Should be seen on the big screen for the full impact.

Story line keeps you very interested costumes and disguise apparel worn by Sherlock simply AWESOME. One thing... audio way too loud for me the acoustics would be so much better if volume was turned down a notch.

The second Sherlock Holmes: A Games of Shadows was better than the first movie. You got to go see the movie it was very good, also you might like it the first time than you might want to go see it a second time because it is so good.

I really enjoyed the second Sherlock movie, it's right up there with the first. Robert Downey Jr. is so great and most definitely makes the movie as I don't care too much for Jude Law. This one may even be more entertaining and funnier than the first Sherlock movie, not disappointed that I saw it in the theatre at all and I have not heard any negative comments from others who have seen it. I watched the movie with my 60+ mom and she enjoyed it as well. Definite laughs.

I'm not sure what it was but I couldn't enjoy this movie. It seemed to drag on forever and I found the portrayal of Holmes to be over the top. Sure, I guess you could say it was entertaining, like everything is these days with the ridiculous action sequences, but where was the substance?
| 4/10 | rtdueck@ - 2 reviews 9.1.2012 - age: 18-25 |
One word to describe the movie... Rober Downey Jr. None stop action from start to finish...
