Corner Brook

This is a great movie. However, I differ with several others that did like this movie in that I didn't like the cheap screen thrills provided several times in the first half of the movie. Something they overdid in low budget movie videos that lost it's effect in the 80's. But, some great angle shots in there. (minus one point) This also had way too much drugs in it. 6 to 8 drugs of choice shown. I don't mind a movie with drugs, but realistically - you need to show me more heroin addicts in the gutters. Don't glorify them as shooting up between classes in University and still getting A's. I don't beleive it. (minus 1) But the dark, complicated real people feel was great, even if you get lost. And high marks for not coming in with a fake ending just to make it happy. Oh - the other movie on human relationships I saw recently was Sweet Home Alabamma. It sucked badly. But I got a feeling that if you don't like this you'll enjoy that simplton one. And if you think this was good, then pass over that one.
