This is hilarious, although the second one was way better.

The Pink Panther is classic and is the funniest movie I have seen. I give it a 9.
| 9/10 | ed_skellington@ - 12 reviews 10.8.2009 - age: 18-25 |
Suprizingly good Martin is great as Cluso. Its better then the Original and 5th Pink panther is equal to the second but falls slightly short compared to the 3rd and 4rth.

Good movie. A bit slow in the middle, but still a great movie.

This was a bad movie overall and the orignals are far better and they shouldnt of tried to copy a classic and its in some ways too bad that they did. Nothing can ever replace a classic.

One word to describe the whole movie, hilarious. This movie was so funny. Steve Martin had an amazing accent and it was so funny to see him talk that way. I like the two twists in the movie. Good plot, good story line and amazing humor. Watch this movie, you will definitely laugh as hard as I did!

AMAZING! I wont lie, when I saw it in theatres, I didnt love it. When I watched it on video, I couldnt stop laughing. Since then, Ive watched it a good 15 times.

While Beyonce looked ravishing... I'm not convinced she'd make it in the movie buisiness. Nevertheless, her presence and voice still added something to this movie. Steve Martin is obviously tru to himself as always and makes a good Detective Crusoe. A good movie overall if you like the genre.

Steve Martin is excellent. His accent was one reason why you would laugh from start to finish! A must see!!

They did the impossible they made a so-called remake/prequel of The Pink Panther that is funnier than the originals this has only been done once before in movies (I. E. The Producers) but never on this scale But first let me say that this is not a remake but rather a tribute to Peter Sellers and the original Pink Panther films. To be fair it was never meant to be a remake but was unfortunately labeled that. Instead it is Steve Martin, Kevin Kline, and Jean Reno taking on the roles of the original characters and making them their own. Sure Steve Martin has Inspector Clouseaus exaggerated French accent and his mannerisms but he gives Clouseau a modern day twist and he and rest fit right in with todays modern world. I dont know how Steve Martin kept a straight face but he did and says everything with such a dry wit, that you actually believe he is Clouseau. Kevin Kline (from A Fish Called Wanda) mimics a fantastic Chief Dreyfus, with his dastardliness and sly undertakings. Jean Reno is wonderful as always. Even Beyonce, who plays the coachs girlfriend, is surprisingly a great actor. I know she was great in Goldmember but that is a different humor than this, this role needed to be a bit more serious, not to mention keeping a straight face around these three hilarious comedians. The movie only plays as a prequel so as to introduce the characters to new-comers to these films and as a reminder to long-time fans such as me. The plot is actually intriguing and carries the story well, which is surprising to say the least compared with a lot of todays comedies. A soccer coach is murdered at a stadium filled with thousands of suspects and his Pink Panther Diamond is stolen. I wont reveal anymore because I believe that movies as great as this need to be seen without any knowledge of the events to be fully enjoyed. Is it really that funny? For me its one of the funniest live-action comedies of all-time but to others it may just simply be non-stop hilarity. A word of warning however: if you didnt like the originals u wont like this but then why are you interested in reading this? It contains the same comedy style as the originals and yet all the jokes seem fresh and most definitely inspired by the originals, only they are more looney, zany, and, yes, even more risqué then the originals. It even has the same introduction style as the originals; thats right the Pink Panther cartoon starts the film and it was just like old times again So in my opinion, an instant comedy classic, for young and old, I laughed at every joke, and was never bored or felt uncomfortable at any time. Go see it NOW and remember Think Pink! .

Nothing special. It has a few moments that are funny but other than that its boring.
| 6/10 | big_lemon44@ - 17 reviews 9.6.2006 - age: 18-25 |
This movie was hilarious. Pure, clean comedy. It wasn't raunchy humor or anything I was very delighted whenI saw it and I think the producer did a great job.

A bad remake. Steve Martin wasted his talents on this one. Never got a smirk out of me and I think Steve Martin is very funny. An insult to Peter Sellers.

I just saw it at the drive-in cinema and I must say that this movie was way better than I have expected it to be. I was never a big fan of Steve Martin but he is just perfect for this role. His French accent was perfect and very funny.

The pink panther was a funny movie. The story line was a little dull and the movie began to get a little boring. Good movie If your in for a nice breezy show.
| 6/10 | janab2@ - 4 reviews 9.5.2006 - age: 13-17 |
I rate this movie -10... the best part is the pink panther animation at the beginning... the rest is worse than drivel... the best acting was by Jean Reno and I believe he could have offered something salvagable to this movie but was obviously tethered by Steve Martin... overall a huge insult to the memory of Peter Sellers and the Pink Panther Movies...

Most of the critics said it all. Sure there was some hilarious humour, no doubt. But the humour wasn't consistent and when it was really good, it was a derivative homage to the old series. We see Martin trying to act like Peter Sellers. He should get together with Martin Short and Chevy Chase and do remakes of the 3 stooges, stealing the same style and see how that goes over. And the chemistry is not there between the new Clouseau and Dreyfus. Martin and Cline both 'jumped the shark' with this one. This is the USA answer to Johnny English. They should've at least had Rowan Atkinson play Dreyfus. This poor homage to Blake Edwards films reminds me of Matthew Broderick as Inspector Gadget. (shiver) Whereas the Gadget film is a big skittles commercial, Panther is a big McDonald's ad, really. On the poster, instead of having the shadow of the pink panther behind Martin, they should have put a shadow of the golden arches. That is what this movie is about. Shame on the producers, inspite of a few good but predictable laughs. An example of the bad humour, is when the globe reappears later in the film and hits the bike rider. This gag doesn't fit with the style they were trying to copy. Watch the originals; you are aware that when the writers want you to laugh, you laugh, because those writers knew comedy.

It's pretty funny but the story is like swiss cheese, full of holes. Go see it if you want a good laugh but don't expect to remember any of it when you wake up the next day.
| 5/10 | adamwr87@ - 11 reviews 27.4.2006 - age: 13-17 |
I have never seen the original pink panther movie so I have nothing to compare it to, but I still felt it was terrible. There were some jokes but they were just lame. And they went a little too far with Steve Martins accent because at some points I couldn't even tell what he was saying. Beyonce Knowles part in the movie was completely pointless and I dont recomend you spend a penny to watch this movie.
| 2/10 | roxyfly162@ - 2 reviews 24.4.2006 - age: 13-17 |
Great movie. Quite funny. Sure it was not as good as with Peter Sellers but Steve Martin pulled it off. The female role was stupidly underused and underplayed - why did they not give her a more impriotant role?

Ive seen this 4 times and I still fall out of my seat every time. Steve Martin does a great rendition of the classic clouseau... and while no one will ever compare to Peter Sellers, Martin puts his own twist on the story to bring it to a completely differemnt level. HIGHLY recommended to anyone who loves light, brainless humour... well worth it :)

I saw the pink panther and it was really a very good movie and it is the best movie I have ever seen. It was so funny and it wasn't boring at all. The story of the film was so nice. The funniest thing is when the main character says I want a hamburger.

I think that all the people that are saying it is such a bad movie need to lighten up. My goodness... it was an innocent movie full of comedic scenes... if you can't see that then you just need to relax a little and go out to enjoy films more... if you think that is bad then you should try Napolean Dynamite... at least this movie had a point to it... and was very hilarious the whole way through!!!

I was expecting so much more because I think Steve Martin is amazing! It had a few funny moments but was not as good as I thought it would be.

A very funny movie! Different than the originals, which is good because it would be hard to compete with them. Steve Martin and the rest of the cast make it a new classic. Steve Martin's acting reminds me of his some of his earlier (and funniest in my opinion) movies like Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Trains Planes and Automobiles, and Father of the Bride.
| 9/10 | canadiangirl_85@ - first review 28.3.2006 - age: 18-25 |
With an opening scene reminiscent of 'A shot in the Dark', I was already smiling in anticipation. Although Martin did his best, the isual jokes couldn't match most of the previous episodes.

Great job this time from Steve Martin, a funny man but not always funny in his movies like Chris Rock!! Always love Beyonce, she kills it with sexiness all the time. I would watch it again, the whole theatre was laughing their head off.

Can't even touch the Peter Sellers movies! Poorly done script with thoughtless scenes (the parking scene springs to mind) Also Why Beyoncé? Go see it, but don't expect much.

I thought this movie was horrible. It was terribly predictable and the attempt at humor was bad. I never saw the original but if it was anything like the movie than it must have been pretty bad.
| 2/10 | beckyboo987@ - first review 24.3.2006 - age: 13-17 |
It was a pretty good movie but Steve Martin is no Peter Sellers, but my children have never experenced Peter so they really loved it especially the scene with the smart car, amoung others.

Do not go to see this movie. I can't believe that there is anyone out there that finds this movie funny. Those positive responses must be advertisements, that's the only explanation. Worst movie ever, by far. End of Steve Martin's career. I will never pay for a Steve Martin movie again. I can't express how sincere I am in saying that this was a steaming pile of Steve Martin. Tragic, I was a fan of his.
