This movie was way too long, and hard to understand. Not much of the plot. The only reason I stayed was because I went with the class of 9-10 year olds. The girls were absolutely bored and the boys were loosing interest half through the movie. When I asked my grandson what he liked about the movie, he couldn't think of anything. His friends said that they would have more fun in school then watching this boring movie.

First off you may wonder why I am giving such a high rating for this movie. This was originally an Japanese Anime. It stayed true to it's genre. I am an old anime fan from way back in the day of Galaxy Express 999 but haven't been watching anime for some time. I found myself being taken back to my childhood for this movie even though I am parent presently. They should of had Will Smith in the movie though due to the fact he was huge Speed Racer fan from back in the day (See: in Sumertime Video he is wearing the t-shirt) To sum it up, it was FUN.

I enjoyed this movie! It had action and drama, good guys and bad guys, and a good message. I didn't like the ending with Rex, though.

I've never seen the tv show, am not really a big fan of anime, but I LOVED it! It was very hilarious, and it reminded me so much of Mario cart! I definitely recomend it!

Having watched Speed Racer growing up I loved it. I can see why people who had never seen the cartoon wouldn't like it. Personally I think it's a classic!

Well~~I am not very crazy about cars or video games, but I still think it's a good movie. It is so different... I mean you don't need think about anything, just relax and relax... Anyway, it is a fun to watch it~ enjoy ~

Took the kids to see it and they really liked it. It was like watching one big video game. Interesting experience. Very nice story. Way too much with the effects, but it's certainly a site to see.

This movie sucks!!! I went 2 see it with my friend, we both said it sucks! The only good part was the very end, and I mean the very end!

I loved it. ANYONE WHO BOTHERED to watch the series or even know ANYTHING about the series would know why it was well done. When Speed Racer was dubbed for English audiences, the dubbers felt it necessary to fill the mouths of the characters with dialouge, so it at least looked as if the character's mouths moved with the dubbing. This created the iconic 'fast-paced' and sometimes non-sensical speech that made it so famous. The brothers here seemed to take that 'speediness' (forgive the pun) and translate it into a visual styling that would make it just as recognizable as the speech dubbing was for the show. There are other subtle aspects I enjoyed about the movie (the one fight scene in the pass with Sparky was bang on) although... Sparky was pretty buff. You think he couldn't have taken anyone out?

Excellent movie... If you've ever seen the Speed Racer Series and enjoyed it, you will deffinately not be disappointed! As for those who haven't seen any of the Speed Racer series, I still highly reccomend watching the movie... just don't go in thinking it will be anything but fantastical - expect some very bizzare visuals! It's Speed Racer for goodness sake! Furthermore, it's 100 times better than Iron Man: the message behind the storyline is much more positive and even the racing scenes are more exciting.

I watched this film with my brother, who's 13 years old. We both liked it and found it hilarious. The final race was definitely graphically well done. It was a long movie, but I didn't get bored throughout the whole movie.

I think this movie will be a smash hit with young kids between the ages of 5 and 10. I would have enjoyed this if I was about 7 years old. But as far as it goes, not being 7 years old, we walked out after a short while. About the entertainment level of barney the dinosaur meets Mr. Rogers and they go driving miss daisy all the way to romper room on a sunday afternoon.

Enthralling action and seemingly high paced tempo was what the trailer lead Speed Racer to be, but once nestled inside the theatre, the tempo began to slow. And where did the enthralling action go? This is by far the worst movie that I have seen, but it was no surprise, seeing how the brothers behind it were disappointing in the 2nd & 3rd matrix movies. Action? Perhaps to a person aged around FIVE.

I honestly cannot understand why everyone is hating on this movie so much.. It's exactly what it promoted itself as being, a great remake of a classic show. Not only did I enjoy the little details from the cartoon such as Speeds love of PB&J and milk. The technology used to make it was great, the story was fun, the acting fitting. Granted it was fairly long but I barely even noticed how much time had gone by. This movie was a lot of fun and I'd say worthy of a second watch.

Spring 2008 and the trash continues. Oh wait, there ARE better movies playing but save your money, skip Speed Racer and go see Iron Man etc. Everyone's hating Speed Racer and there's a reason why-too long, poorly made, should've left well enough alone.

It was too long, 90 minutes was about enough. The story line was impossible for the kids to figure out. They loved the race scenes though and just kept waiting for the next race. Could have had more detail on the cars and the race scenes were so fast paced you couldn't always make out what was happening. Why in the world did the kid have a monkey? What's that all about?

OMG I've seen this movie 3 times already and I would still pay to go see it again. It's like Kung Foo with cars. Yes it is cartooony and has a lot of colour, but thats just the way the movie was visualized and frankly, I loved every second of it!

This movie kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Enjoyed the story and all the action scenes. Made me laugh. Appreciated the craziness of the movie and all the visual effects. For all the movie haters, rather than saying it was "bad"," worse movie"," bad acting", etc, say you were you expecting. How would you have directed the movie? How would you have written the story? What would you have done to make it "inspiring"?

It was an alright movie but it could've been much much better. You don't have to be a six-year old boy to like it. You would like it but I think it was too unrealistic. Again it could've been much better than it was. I still kindve liked it and it was okay entertainment.

A really amazing film. The story isn't what carries the movie but it is good and serves as good framing for the action and CG craziness which makes this film awesome. Speed Racer could be the ride of your life, and is definitely worth seeing in IMAX.
