Very disturbing and plays on your mind. To think that sort of thing ever happen and still going on. Makes me sick.

This is a high calibre performance at its best from Angelina Jolie. She conveys a sense of grief, desperation, fear, sadness and determination that is absolutely palpable. Changeling will engage both your fears and compassion and it will stay with you long after vou seen it. It's hard to recall a more moving film of recent times than this. That it's based on a true story makes it all the more compelling.

Great movie but a little slow. Could have had more to it and even though it's based on a true story I had a hard time believing that the story was actually real. Awesome acting though. Angelina Jolie did an awesome job when she was in the hospital.

Super slow movie! It could have easily been shrunk to an hour movie instead of a 2.5 hour long boring story. I've never seen Angelina looking so unattractive as she does in this movie. The ending... well my mouth dropped when I realized that's the ending and the movie finally got nowhere!
| 6/10 | azadeh7979@ - 3 reviews 29.9.2009 - age: 26-35 |
Angelina give a good performance in this, not sure if it is Oscar worthy as she was nominated. Interesting take on a true story.

Angelina Jolie put in a great performance as a devastated single mother trying to find her missing son. An excellent movie given some supurb direction. The cast was well put together and John Malkovich did his role justice. A must see movie.

This movie was really well done, a few of the actors weren't very good in my opinion... Particularly the scene when the young boy tells the officer about what happened at the ranch (it just felt like acting) This movie has disturbed me to the core of my being and I wish I had a better idea of how gruesome & disturbing it would be in some parts before I watched it. Other than that it was a very interesting & enlightening movie. Hard to believe such horrifying events can actually occur in real life!

Really loved the movie, especially because it is a true story.

Angelina Joli did a great job acting out this true story. It's a real heartbreaker! That lady was tenacious, and nothing would stop her. Not a "feel good" movie, but worth seeing.

Excellent period set design. Rather a cliche subject converted into a tense realistic story.

PERFECT!!! trust me! A movie that you will always remember.

The story is truly amazing as it is difficult to believe any of this being true. The acting was okay but the direction and soundtrack were great.

Its full of drama. Its just one hell of a movie. A 2009 top for sure.

This movie was a very good true story. Jolie played the role very well.
| 7/10 | carebear@ - 10 reviews 23.1.2009 - age: 26-35 |
Great period piece, but I was nagged by the idea that the representation of the LAPD circa 1928 was maybe inaccurate... I don't know enough about that aspect of LA history to say yes or no to myself concerning that point-maybe sounds minor but the film hinges on the audiences willingness to accept that the LAPD ran around gunning down any criminals and or suspected criminals in a reign of terror that surrounded the use of something called the Gunsquad, in 1928 LA. The acting was memorable if not a bit heavy handed, but I think director Clint Eastwood made a serious effort to make an intriguing tale-it is not that he fails, it is more the film requires a bit in the way of historical knowledge to judge one way or the other-knowledge that most people will not have when they see the film.

An excellent movie that was very entertaining to watch. Not slow or dragged out. Beautifully told and crafted, a work of art to be sure. Clint did an excellent job as did Ange Jolie both deserving of Oscar nominations for their work on this film.

What a horrific true story but the movie was done so beautifully with great acting by Angelina Jolie and great direction from Clint Eastwood. I especially liked the attention to detail of the date/period. A must see.

I am certain this movie will win awards. It is edge of your seat entertaining. I would recommend you see it on the big screen as well as dvd, just see it. You will feel the emotion that is intended for you to experience this true story.

I am surprised by all of the good reviews this movie is getting. It was so painfully slow, surprisingly gruesome and Angelina is completely unattractive and bony-looking. By the end of it I did not even care if there was hope of finding the missing son, I just wanted it to be over.

Great movie but not appropriate for young children. I went to the show and there was a nine year old sitting in the front row with his father. This distracted me throughout the movie.

“Changeling” is about a woman who refuses to accept the child the LAPD returns to her as a substitute after her own son has been abducted. Angelina Jolie's version of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest meets Frances is nowhere as interesting as The Snake Pit. The pivotal action in the crime investigation revolves around the uncovering of a series of heinous murders —there is a Canadian connection here, and even a trip to Vancouver to track down the murderer— and the trials that follow. Director Clint Eastwood doesn’t seem to trust the audience to make up their own minds, so he makes characters root for Angelina.

Good storytelling. Especially that you know itw as based on a true story. I personnally do not think that Angelina Jolie was exactly made for the part but she still pulled it off pretty well.

A church should be a first place to give help, thanks to John Malkovich (the priest) who helped Angelina Jolie (The Main Character) and sacrificed his life with compassion for people. No one is perfect, but we learn from our mistakes. Please look how Angelina Jolie was suffered in the movie because of her mistake, all the mothers out there please foster well and protect well your children.

I found it a little dry and a little drawn out... overall it was an interesting story and very well acted... eventually though the movie became redundant... If you want to see it be prepared to settle in for the long haul, they really should of trimmed some of the fat off this movie.

It's incredible that this story is true. To think that only eighty years ago this kind of thing was going on -- and smiilar things could still be going on for all we know. Angelina Jolie's performance is stellar, and the director did an excellent job of heightening the sense of "aloneness" this woman must have felt. Definitely worth seeing!

Wow. I am beginning to tire of writing great reviews for Eastwood Directed movies. I prefer not to as I don't like actors crossing over into directing. But Clint has chosen another gem! A great suspenseful plot with multilayers of corruption and decay.

An outstanding portrayal of a true story that pulls at your heart and makes you feel sick about humanity. It's unfortunate about the title (thought it was a horror movie)

This movie will haunt you. The story just lingers. Thank God I don't have kids because I would be having a very difficult night otherwise. Clint eastwood always amazes me with his directing abilities. The writing was top notch. The supporting cast, Donovan, Malkovich Feore... really good. But it's the story of that woman played by Angelina Jolie which is the focus. Was Jolie able to pull it off? No she didn't pull it off... She killed it, she carried the movie, she was really fantastic. I am a fan of hers and this is the best work I ve seen from her. Kudos Mama really really good movie Thumbs Up.

It is truly an amazing and intrusive movie. I went to watch this movie with my friend. At first, I didn’t like the movie – the actress is not at all young looking and attractive. The atmosphere of the firm was old (the hair styles, fashion etc), as if I was actually watching a movie from 1950, and it is not at all entertaining, like most Hollywood movies we see nowadays. I didn’t expect myself to like the movie. But thanks to the superior acting from all characters, and the superior movie settings, I was slowly, totally immerged into the movie world until the movie ends. When I step out of the theater, I found myself suffering from light stomach ache due to the power and the intensity of the movie. Only this movie could bring such an impact on me, and I believe only the director Clint Eastwood could deliver such a powerful movie. Absolutely one of the very best and powerful movies I have ever seen for many, many years.

The Changeling is based on a true story from which the director, Clint Eastwood, has created a truly stunning film. No end to Mr. Eastwood's talent he also did the music for the film. Angelina Jolie's performance alone compels one's attention throughout this disturbing drama, the equal of One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest in many ways. John Malkevich's acting is subtle yet powerful, a completely believable portrayal of an ordinary man on a mission. Colm Feore held his own in the high-voltage ensemble. While The Changeling is not an easy film to watch, on Oscar night you'll be glad that you did. How did the real life cops and the medical staff once upon a time imagine that they were doing the right things in this case? I wonder... where was their empathy and decency so long ago?

The best movie I have seen in a long time. Angelina is brilliant in this movie and I would be surprised if she doesn't win an oscar for her performance. The trailer does not do this movie justice. I didn't have high expectations for this movie based on tha trailer but I was pleasantly surprised to find a captivating and riveting story. Best movie of the year, and Angelina's best performance yet!

(I get a chuckle over the youngest age category - 1-12. Wow - I want to meet a one-year-old who can sit through a movie, let alone write a review!!!) Anyway... I usually have better things to do than write movie reviews. But if there ever was, to use the cliche, a "must-see" movie, this is it. It is the best film I have seen in a long, long time. It tells a true story very straight-forward and un-sentimental manner. Totally gripping and marvelously acted. It is unfortunate that the title may fool some people into thinking this is a sci-fi or horror movie.
