The special effects keep you entertained during the entire movie. I didn't find a second of it boring.

Where to begin? This movie was a disaster. Gone is the mood and stylistic presence of the original movie. With each new instalment the series has degraded and the latest addition has provided me with an empty experience and left me completely uninterested in seeing more. I have stopped caring for the characters, which is never a good thing. Part of the problem is the disjointed story line and extremely weak plot. It's just not believable as the logical evolution of the series. The effects are also poor. The CG was twitchy and seemingly low budget. The only saving grace in this film was Kate in her leather outfit.

The movie was good, and very entertaining. Full of action and good design of the movement, however it is hard for me to see human being killed by vampires and lycans like ants smashed by big feet.

Non-stop fun action in 3D. The special effects were awesome.
| 7/10 | erick_87_542@ - 102 reviews 9.4.2012 - age: 18-25 |
It wasn't horrible like I thought it would be. There's a thin plot and it's mostly action sequences but it was an okay way to spend an hour and half if you like these movies. Couple things that I wasn't crazy about was an action scene that looked like it was shot at the same place an action scene in The Matrix was shot at, and the werewolves don't look as impressive as they could.

I was very disappointed with this film. I'm a HUGE fan of the Underworld series and this fell so far from my expectations. But if you just want to watch Selina kick ass again and don't care too much about plot quality, than this movie's fine to watch. The acting- David aside- was great but the movie was rushed and seriously lacks the greatness of the other 3 films. I also kept waiting for Micheal but it's obvious he's not played by the same actor, another big disappointment. Sorry but definitely not worth money, the 3D was nice though.
| 3/10 | cece@ - 4 reviews 29.2.2012 - age: 18-25 |
The movie lasts like 5 minutes, pure money grab, no real story.
| 5/10 | m_cerull@ - 6 reviews 29.2.2012 - age: 26-35 |
The movie is fast with a good solid story. Kate is awesome. The 3D was used well and not over done. Great movie.

Was disappointed, expected much better. Pumped up werewolf was lame. Capture of both Serena and Michael was kind of a stretch.
| 6/10 | tcolterk@ - 4 reviews 24.2.2012 - age: 36-49 |
Very good! Wanted it to be longer though. Only thing against this is that once again we are going to have to wait some time for the next one!
| 8/10 | nathleg@ - first review 21.2.2012 - age: 36-49 |
Really good movie, too bad it's a little short, however, there will be at least a 2nd one, so I'll be waiting for that. Some may find storyline confusing, and personally I feel they could've evolved the story in to something whole lot different, but the one they did is okay too.
| 10/10 | moviecruncher@ - 14 reviews 20.2.2012 - age: 13-17 |
The effects were great, the actions too, but the story wasn't really going anywhere and it was long...
| 7/10 | aizolie@ - 24 reviews 20.2.2012 - age: 18-25 |
Wow. Haven't felt like that in the first ten minutes of a flick since "Kill Bill". I was very surprised by this instalment of the franchise, the best one yet. The action is non non stop, the storyline tight, and Kate Beckinsale superb. Highly recommended.

Underworld: Awakenings is one of the most enjoyable movies I've seen all year. I'm a huge fan of the series... it just worked, top to bottom. Kate owns this role... the director somehow manages to navigate that fine line between outrageous and camp, to put you right in that world and make it seem plausible. I thought they did an excellent job of encapsulating the intended storyline while maintaining a sense of continuity, a difficult move since all the characters are new... except Selene. Pure escapist pleasure. I can't wait for the next one.

Loved everything about this movie except for the 3D.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.]
The movie was good, certainly action packed from beginning to end, impressively so. It leaves no story gap from the second movie. I was a little disappointed with the procreating vampire/werewolf concept. Although they do not explain how such a thing would be possible in this world, there is an assumption that she was pregnant when captured, which seems rather ludicrous. Having said this, the halfbreed special effects makeup and overall look was amazingly creepy. Two thumbs way up! The plot line was lacking, flimsy at best however if you want to watch the kind of movie where you can shut your brain off and enjoy some good old fashion supernatural action, this movie is for you. Kate looked awesome as always and her colleagues were talented as well. Quite an action ride and completely enjoyable!

I am a huge fan of this series. I was expecting a bit more of a storyline. The writer did try to create some texture to the plot by introducing the daughter, but I think there's something missing in its history. Loved her new outfit, she looks so cool. Was nice seeing Kris Holden Reid in this movie, even though his role was somewhat small. I am looking forward to the next installment!

Oh Katey... that made my day :) While this is the first one of the series I watched, it was ok. I went in expecting pretty much what I got... skin tight leatherettes...

This movie brings all the pieces together puts them together and throws them in your face exploding your mind amazing! Kate Beckinsale ******* hot. Amazing film, every one else who voted 7 and under is 50 years old and doesn't know what a good movie is.

I am very sad to say, Awakening didn't live up to the better quality of the first 3 in the series. Storyline was weak and the 3D was gratuitous... didn't add anything to it.
| 6/10 | daelusca@ - 15 reviews 13.2.2012 - age: 36-49 |
Good movie but I'm starting to be annoyed by the serie.
| 7/10 | avariel_tyris_epsillonnia@ - 17 reviews 13.2.2012 - age: 26-35 |
The Lycans - they looked like crap. The only thought that stayed in my mind after leaving the theatre was "IT" wasn't named lol! The movie was very fast paced. Loved everything else about the movie.

So far out of all of the underworlds this one is the best.
| 10/10 | erinkl98@ - first review 11.2.2012 - age: 18-25 |
The storyline was not gripping, truly the only thing good about this movie was the gore, the lycan animations were garbage as well.
| 3/10 | devilsmaycry9@ - 8 reviews 11.2.2012 - age: 13-17 |
I thought this was the worst one of the 4 movies. It seemed to be very predictable and a repeat of the action scenes from the previous three. I was disappointed, cause I loved the first 3 movies from this series.
| 6/10 | wesstangl@ - 2 reviews 9.2.2012 - age: 36-49 |

I love it! Lots of action and Kate is a hot tamale as always. In fact, I was so jealous by her trimmed frame, I'm inspired to go back to my weight training! LOL. Although the film is bloody, I'm actually surprised that it is not disgustingly gory. One of the few things I actually agree from other reviews is that they jam pack a lot of info in one film. Still they kept a constant pace that will keep you riveted. In this sequel, the character focus has shifted to Kate's character but it's not surprising that it did because she has now taken in a role that she didn't anticipate at all; she had much more at stake and it's only natural that she appeared the strongest vampire because after all she not only was gifted by the eldest of them all but also from her lover, the hybrid. So, of course, the rest appeared amateur compared to her. Kate performed her character very well. She's a cool, no-nonsense-I-mean-business chick.
| 9/10 | aecy_cp@ - 24 reviews 7.2.2012 - age: 18-25 |
Short movie, with a ton of info packed into it. They made it seem like she was the only vampire worth her weight with the fighting. Also seemed a little obvious to end it like it did...
| 6/10 | smknyff@ - 9 reviews 6.2.2012 - age: 26-35 |
It was great action, but I ended up kinda confused about some things. The story wasn't as strong as previous Underworld movies but still great in its own way. I thought the 3D was really minimal and they should have just shot in 2D. Movie was way too short and supporting characters not given enough backstory.
| 8/10 | bertuzzi_6@ - 2 reviews 5.2.2012 - age: 26-35 |
It was a pretty good movie. If you liked the other Underworld movies, you will probably like this one. Sometimes it feels as though you are watching a Resident Evil film. I won't say why... you'll figure it out for yourself. I will probably buy the dvd when it comes out.

Kate Beckinsational! Kate Beckinsale is only one of a handful of actresses that can carry a gun like they mean it! As for the movie itself, 3D has never impressed me, however in the case of this flick, 3D is raised to an art-form in and of itself - and whomever is responsible for how it is used in this movie should write a book for the others who get it wrong and they should create a special Oscar category for their talents! The story is a perfect installment in the franchise and like I said Kate is absolutely... BECKINSATIONAL!!! See it!

Big fan of the series and so I had big expectations. Reviews were mostly positive... so I went. Big disappointment. It was filmed/shot terribly. CGI was bad... almost cartoonish. Almost cheesy the way the film was cut. Even Kate Beckinsale running around kicking butt in her paint on outfit wasn't enough to save this film. Concept was very weak. Storyline executed badly. I can't be sure but I think the director for first Underworlds (also happens to be Kate's husband/partner) was only a screenwriter for this movie. It sure shows. Most of Kate's fight scenes in the beginning were done very well. The films ending is a prelude to another film... perhaps. Overall... wait for DVD. Not worth paying big screen money for.

Loved this movie all action n gore just the way I like it... simple story Kate in a tight suit just makes it even better... a must see.

The opening was brutal but after that the movie becomes very entertaining. It should only be watched in 3D seeing as the special effects are very cool. Real Rating: 7.5/10.

Loved this movie and definitely more than I expected for a 4th series. I liked the storyline with its little twist, good special effects emphasized by 3D. The length of the movie is a bit short though. Go watch this... in 3D.

Kate Beckinsale in 3-D. Need I say more? Super Lycans are super awesome on the big screen. Action, action, action... great entertainment on a wet winter day.

I am sad to tell you this... I am a fan of this series but this one was a big disappointment... Main actress was the ONLY actor in entire of the movie and such no story!!! Only violence (even more than usual I think) was there for special effects...
| 3/10 | jjasminchang@ - 16 reviews 3.2.2012 - age: 26-35 |
Great movie, plenty of action and an amazingly hot Kate. Was hoping since it was the 4th movie in the series that it wouldn't suck, and I was pleasantly surprised.

I don't get why some people don't like this movie. The things that happened in this movie are exactly what you should want from a underworld movie. Can't wait to see the fifth one.
