It was so confusing. The climax of the movie made no sense at all. Bad acting throughout the movie (except Jennifer Lawrence) After the first 10 minutes, it's just a bore. At the end, it's a little more thrilling, but not enough. My advice is to ignore looking it up on the computer or at the video store.

Horrible, I would rather watch a straw sitting in water for 2 hours... or worse Texas Chainsaw again..

Great script! Very suspenseful, good acting, when will part 2 come out. Ryan escapes in search of JENNIFER. He keeps thinking about the face in the tree and sees only JENNIFER'S face.

I have to say "House at the End of the Street" wasn't what I expected, but I was very accepting that it was a bit different from your average horror flick. Actually it was more of a psychological suspense thriller, yet there were plenty of horror filled moments and scenes to keep you on edge. I really liked the casting and the story line for this movie. The actors did a reasonably good job. I'd have to say the highlight of the film is definitely Jennifer Lawrence and Elizabeth Shue, watching both of them is worth the price of admission in itself. Also, I found Max Thieriot who played Ryan gave a good performance as well, although his acting skills could've been just a bit more fine-tuned. However, things start to get more entertaining when his character is first introduced into the picture. His loner-like characteristics are like those of Norman Bates. I thought there was great on-screen chemistry between him and Elissa (Jennifer Lawrence), that their romantic relationship seemed genuine, at least in the beginning before things got crazy. Aside from this, the film is atmospheric, and doesn't always go in the direction you expect. There are a few unexpected turns throughout, tension mounting with each step as secrets are revealed and a dark mystery is gradually solved. The climax is impressive and is nicely incorporated into the flick. Sure "House at the End of the Street" has its cliche's, but if you can overlook them, you can still enjoy the show. I agree that this movie was a bit slow getting off the ground, especially into the first 30 or 40 minutes, but once it gets going, it really takes off. Also, the music score was amazing for this production. Overall good nail-biting suspense, and entertainment for a quiet, leisurely afternoon at the theater.

Good story line and acting. Unexpected ending. I agree is more a good triller than a horror movie. Keep your attention beginning to end.

Totally Boring movie, was very disappointed. Boring from start to finish.

Great thriller with an interesting twist at the end. Definitely worth watching.
| 8/10 | bcousin1@ - 7 reviews 12.10.2012 - age: 18-25 |
Movie was good, but I think Cabin in the Woods was better. Movie starts out rather slow after the first few minutes but does pick up in suspense for the last third. Still worth seeing at any price.

Jennifer Lawrence was amazing and the movie was great. I really liked the ending and the cinematography.
| 9/10 | kevinw@ - 55 reviews 10.10.2012 - age: 13-17 |
This movie was ok, and like the previous reviews, predictable. Jennifer Lawrence was amazing in it as in all her movies, wonder if they put her in this to get the ratings because she is the only one worth paying the admission to see.
| 3/10 | pamarcher99@ - 12 reviews 9.10.2012 - age: 36-49 |
Jennifer Lawrence is a tall young woman with a strong presence. This physicality (which helped her in 'The Hunger Games') is also what saves her character in the dangerous last 15 minutes of this film. Otherwise, this movie was a waste of time.

Not your typical "everyone dies just for the heck or gore and violence" kinda thriller. It had a story and more depth. I really enjoyed it!
| 8/10 | emelkoster@ - 4 reviews 7.10.2012 - age: 13-17 |
It really wasn't well put together. My problem with a lot of horror movies is that they're completely thriller and nooo horror. There's a difference of actually fearing a movie and being scared because something is simply going to pop out. I saw it and I really enjoyed the experience actually, not because of the movie, but because of the people sitting behind me. They literally were hilarious and it made me realize that it was just too easy to make fun of. Please, go see it if you see it in an inner city theater. It is so worth it.
| 4/10 | louiscolangelo72@ - first review 5.10.2012 - age: 13-17 |
It was very good actually, we enjoyed a lot, ending is quite different, acting is also very good. I love this type of horror movies. Go see it.

I liked it, but it ended a bit differently than what I expected. Pretty good show though, not scary enough, but still good.
| 8/10 | littlemama2455@ - 14 reviews 3.10.2012 - age: 26-35 |
This is no "Hunger Games" and a waste of the acting talent. It consists of an endless string of scary movie cliches that are both terribly predictable, ridiculously implausible and very poorly executed. I believe that there is nothing in this movie that hasn't been done before and that, combined with the poor writing and execution, makes it not only not entertaining but very irritating to watch.

This movie had a lot of potential. Too bad the acting was crappy. Predictable. Not worth seeing in theatres. Definite [...] rental.
| 6/10 | baby_cakes_22@ - 64 reviews 3.10.2012 - age: 26-35 |
Meh, it was predictable and Cliché. It was also really unoriginal. There where a lot of holes in the plot and the ending makes no sense, not the good kind of not making sense where you really have to think but the kind where you come out thinking What the f**k. Overall the movie was enjoyable. The actors were good but the acting itself was horrid. I would still see it with a group of people though.

Went to watch this with my boyfriend. Great thriller :)
| 8/10 | hhhk@ - first review 2.10.2012 - age: 18-25 |
I didn't find the film scary at all. Furthermore, the story is so predictable and cliched, that it loses your interest in the first 5-10 minutes. Pass on this one.
| 3/10 | joeljustleft@ - 269 reviews 2.10.2012 - age: 26-35 |
The fact that anyone could sit through this mess of a movie and actually enjoy it is proof of just how undemanding and frankly idiotic the movie going public has become. Not only is it the furthest thing from scary, but the supposedly shocking twist is painfully evident to anyone who has ever watched one of these cheap, incoherent, teen-age girl aimed pieces of crap. Jennifer Lawrence and Elizabeth Shue are both very talented and are leagues above this trash. Let's hope they've learned their lesson.

It was good, I was surprised by the ending.
| 7/10 | natashadgeorge@ - first review 28.9.2012 - age: 26-35 |
With any other cast, this movie would be a disaster but that was not the case at all. This movie was for all intended purpose meant for young people that don't have the knowledge of what a horror movie is supposed to look like because everything was so predictable and people like me who have seen a lot of those movie will be able to spot all the plot twist before they happen. But still with all the predictability, I still enjoyed myself watching this movie.

Wasn't as scary but more of a suspense thriller. Did enjoy the twist ending and the performances by the two leads.

First off let me say that I am not someone who watches Suspense/horror flicks on a regular basis. My main reason for seeing this is because of Jennifer Lawrence. Every movie I have seen of hers, has left me amazed at how fantastic of an actor she is regardless of her age. She puts in another great performance that is so well grounded and believable. I read the reviews and they talked about cliche and predictable. Maybe, it's because I don't watch many of these sort of movies, that I didn't see that at all. I felt the story was good, maybe not overly scary, but definitely suspenseful and tense. The acting by all of the main cast was great. The plot twist was a good one, it did catch me not guessing that. I think it is worth seeing for sure.
| 7/10 | frank@ - 3 reviews 26.9.2012 - age: 36-49 |
I thought it was excellent! I screamed and covered my eyes a few times! I loved that it wasn't a blood and gore movie that it was creepy and scary!!
| 10/10 | v.bell@ - 8 reviews 26.9.2012 - age: 36-49 |
My friend and I went to see this movie for something different. I like the story and how it twists. Little hard to understand. Actually funny enough my name is Sarah just like the character and too freaky just like to character, I live in the last house on a dead end street. The movie is not a type of movie that will give you night mares. But the story line was nothing I guessed was coming, it was a good scary thriller and well enjoyed.

Great movie! Not your typical scary movie since it wasn't scary at all but great plot and great characters. More of a Thriller than a horror. Thumbs up to the writers for not putting any swearing or naked girls in it! Not your typical cliche horror movie! Go see it!
| 9/10 | fuzzycat901@ - 55 reviews 25.9.2012 - age: 13-17 |
Finally a good horror film without swearing and girls taking their tops off. I enjoyed it very much!

GAWD this is bad. It is NOT a horror or scary movie in the slightest. Get a better script and start over. Thumbs down on this dud.

You would think with all the girls missing (in the basement) they would have done something sooner!! But it's a movie... good but seen better.

I didn't except what happened at all!! I'm usally not a fan of these types of movies but this was AMAZING!! It had a really shocking twist. Had to cover my eyes for a bit and only screamed once so... It was really good.
| 9/10 | leah.butler.93@ - first review 23.9.2012 - age: 13-17 |
Better than expected. While not the most original story, this movie still delivers some tense moments. However, in many instances, opportunities are missed for delivering chills that are sorely missing, but present in the previews shown for upcoming movies. Not scary but intense and violent with good performances by the cast.

Jennifer Lawrence and Max Thieriot were particularly good - plot caught your attention but some scenes were predictable - enjoyed the scary bits.

I have to admit that a few times I covered my eyes cause I was scared. The plot of the movie is what makes this movie good; let's just say it wasnt what I expected, there was a nice twist to it.

An alternate take on "psycho". Really the best reason to see this movie is Jennifer who is not only beautiful but a very good actress.

This movie was so bad, the people around us making fun of it, provided more entertainment than the movie itself! It was not scary or shocking, and the story line was weak. Don't even think about it!
