Ebert said The Village was horrible. Roeper said it was one of the best movies so far this year. I fall somewhere in between. I think it's worth seeing. Most people enter a "scary" movie knowing they can leave their brain behinds. Those that saw this movie with that mentality left disappointed. This was not a "monster" movie nor a "slasher" movie. Those willing to do some thinking discovered that this movie worked on many different levels and leads into some post-movie thought-provoking conversations.
