A much needed reboot for an ailing space odyssey of realistic phenomenon. Originally created by Gene Roddenberry, a multitude of writers have explored new galaxies and characters, failing to intrigue anyone outside of the fan club. With a regurgitated cast of old actors two stepping across the screen, they had no other choice but too lean on the graphics for any action. Not in this film, with a cast no older than 28, Sulu shows his ninja skills while Kirk dukes it out in more than a few scenes. Their natural chemistry ignite a good mood that never lets up. Chris Pine as James T. Kirk and Zachary Quinto as Spock, are 'quint'essentially the be all, end all, heart of this film. Almost 10 years since the last Star Trek feature was produced, it seems like a lifetime to wait in anticipation of 'whats next? '. Real fans have stayed loyal to the franchise though gaining a new audience was futile. When the TV series attempted a come back in 2001, it fell apart quickly and was subsequently canceled do to poor ratings. I have faith this will be the new cast for the next century, be it film or television a long hiatus for any addition is highly unlikely.
