I just do not understand people reviewing this movie. I just don't. This is probably one of the best movies of the year. Mel Gibson was amazing, and I'm not a big fan of his acting. The rest of the cast was stellar. I can't say more about them. The plot is what you need to understand to enjoy the movie. The whole aliens thing is NOT the main story. It's all about the lives of the characters. It could've been something other than E. T.'s knocking on their door, because it wouldn't have mattered. Where the movie shines is in character development. M. Night Shyamalan did a fantastic job at creating this amazing story of man who has lost faith in God and can't understand why a tragedy happened to him. Honestly, this is a wonderful suspense/horror/drama movie that doesn't focus on monsters and killers, but characters and plot. Don't miss it.
