Didn't love McAvoy as Professor X personally, Fassbender, if I've got [his] name right, was ok as Magneto. Seem to remember the two of them knowing each other at much younger age in one of the other X Movies, so that struck me as odd. The effects looked alright, yet something was just missing for me personally. I find it rarely works for me when comics to movies take themselves too seriously and though the X-Men may well be all about the seriousness of everything, I generally prefer a little tongue in cheek with super hero fantasies. For me that's what drops it to the low side of 6.5 where I'd most like to rate it, as opposed to Thor which just hopped up, though I'm not even sure about that rating any longer. Hoping for better with Green Lantern. For the record, a serious super hero movie that worked was the Incredible Hulk. My favorites are actually the Hellboys. Take that FWIW.
