Not bad could have been better. Action was okay but I was expecting something else.

Interesting start but then it became very predictable. And the action scenes were pretty bad. Scarlett seemed so ditsy in this film, it was ridiculous. I wish they went more with the moral issues, and human behavior issues than with the action and cheesy love parts.

I rate it a 6.5. Scarlett's confusion in the movie anoyed me. The action was o. k. Could have been better if it was a little more realistic at scenes.

This movie was very good. It's not a 10 because the action scenes are unrealistic (however breathtaking) Scarlet doesn't get as much as a scratch (but most viewers wouldn't want that anyway) I would recommend it.

Too abstract and overall stupid and boring in spite the special effect scenes. On a simular level as 'The three stooges"

Djimon Hounsou is the only remotely good thing about this movie. It had such potential, such promise in the plot and they ruined it! Full of plot holes and idiocy beyond forgiveness. Scarlett Johansson's unbelievable hotness cannot compensate for her pathetic acting in this movie. What a waste of special effects. Also, the most ridiculously blatant product placement I've ever witnessed!

This movie really makes you think about how our society could change and the importance of having moral leaders and laws. Also the importance of being able to vote.

This is a fun little sci-fi movie. Overall I liked it, but my boyfriend and I kept finding these weird little gaps in the story's logic... I guess you have to suspend your disbelief, right? The other thing I didn't like was the BLATANT advertising throughout the movie, really obvious product shots for companies like Puma, Aquafina, etc. It was so obvious it felt like commercial breaks. Scarlet Johansson was lovely but seemed really vapid (unlike some of her more interesting roles in movies like Girl With a Pearl Earring and Lost in Translation) The blonde dye job and heavy mascara made her look just like every other blonde starlet out there which I think is a shame. Ewan McGregor was perfectly cast. Steve Buscemi should have had a much larger role - he played a quirky maintenance guy, but wasn't used to his full capabilities. The other thing I noticed that was kind of funny was the similarities to other sci-fi movies - and I don't watch a lot of this genre. The cities had a cleaned-up Blade Runner thing going on. The whole clone-developing-consciousness thing and the sterile white environment was kind of like I, Robot. That's all I can think of right now but I remember in the movie I kept saying, "isn't that like in that movie..." I'm glad I rented this rather than going to see it in the theatre. It's not awful but it's not worth cinema prices. If you're in the mood for a fun little action-sci-fi movie, this will work for you.

I thought of Gataca and yet with more action and high speed. A wonderful movie and must see and have in your collection! Something so different is often the best thing especially when most films are just so darn predictable nowadays! @--)--.

I thought it had an interesting concept but several stolen ideas from movies like the Matrix and A. I... etc. I was disappointed.

Great expanded idea of stem cell harvesting contraversy and the exponential "what if it were carried to the nth degree" senario. A modern day Soilent Green. There was a lack of real emotions though upon the realization of the protagonists' dilemna ie: anger, surprize and a bit of a lack of an ignorance of the "outside" world, especially considering that when they "arrived" at the facility, the were vacant of any knowledge and had to be apparently taught everything from potty training to their ABC's. Good action and a good concept that should have had a little more depth to their perdicament.

Went to see it with kids age 9 and they enjoyed it as much as I did! The story was captivating and gave you something to think about after the movie too! Worth going to see..

A bit long and increasingly unrealistic, especially the futuristic bike-chase scene.

Not a bad movie, not terribly unique though. The basic story idea is was made me interested but once you've seen the trailer, you know what the story is and the movie plays out by the numbers and the ending is predictable. It drags on a bit longer than it probably should have and you'll probably find yourself wondering when it's all going to end. If you're bored, check it out. It looks pretty but at the end of the day, it's primarily just eye candy.

Wow! This movie was better than I expected it would be. The car chase scene is a little unrealistic but it is by far the best I have ever seen. The acting and special effects were very good. This movie is 10 times better than the lousy Star Wars Return of the Sith movie which I had to force myself to sit through.

Presents a highly simplistic and naive view of a complex moral issue. The producers are interested in making money here, not in challenging the viewer, nor themselves.

Exciting, fun, makes you think. Some cheesy dialogue. Sorely underrated. Micheal Bay's best work so far.

It is a laught. Hearing, reading about how a movies should be, original, well acted, always show your main characters as is they where models and lets not forget it as to be plausible. Well, I agree. So lets face it, a movie is a movie and real life is real life. Most of us do not act well and we are certainly not wery original and we do not walk around like models. Lets get to the point, The Island as an interesting story, there is a very good looking women, great action scenes. Dramatic situation and a love story, what could we ask for more. It is all a madder of taste and personnaly I'm sick and tired of movies that portrait life. I'm not going to pay then dollars so watch a depressing movie.

A great movie, especially because it uses today's scientific hurdles with stem cell cloning and uses it to create an imaginary future of what would happen if stem cell research were to continue. It also creates a great debate for the cloning issue... a must see movie especially if you're interested in all this science stuff.

This certainly is an interesting movie. The props and storyline and everything else was pretty good. The only drawback (in my opinion) is the fighting scenes were a little bit too long. However, that was still acceptable. The ending was rather interesting, but I want to ask, where are the clones going to reside? Because unlike Lincoln, his original already died.

Yeah, a few far fetched ideas, and unbelievable events in the plot, but still lots of fun. Good performances by all with only a few corny characters... but it was still great entertainment. Incredible effects too by the way - reminiscent of The Matrix 2. Well sorta.

Why won't Michael Bay simply give up and leave us alone once and for all. Movie enthusiasts deserve more respect from people like him. Yes, you have good looking actors and actresses, yes, you have shiny effects that make for a nice preview, which will surely lure in the dumb audience, yes, you throw in a interesting topic to give a feel that your movie is about something... In the end, this is once more a trivial, undeserving piece of manure.

Scarlett is sooo pretty. I liked her since The Ghost World (where she's a bit under the shadows of other 2 great actors) but if you want to see her stuff (acting that is), try "Love Song for Bobby Long" with John Travolta. This movie, "The island" is main stream and is about making a buck... still, pretty good effort. The chasing stunts on the highway are impressive, Terminator 3 level or better. This movie is not like "Vera Drake".

I have never before seen a movie I would describe as "pulse-pounding" but after seeing this movie, that is exactly the word I would use. It is full of great action sequences, stomach churning suspense, and a great romantic storyline. This is definitely a movie worth watching more than once!

Defenitely A MUST SEE MOVIE of the year! The movie keeps you wanting more and more of it. It keeps your shoulders tensed and your eyes focused on the screen for whole 2 hrs! If you've enjoyed watching "I, Robot" then this is the kind of movie that you should go see. I guarantee you will not regret watching this movie.

A mix of the Matrix and Recall 2000. I think the story of this movie is lame. Luckily Scarlet was there to keep me entertained with her good looks. Ewan is a good actor. Some ideas in the movie are good. Unrealistic action. Long duration. Weak ending (maybe because it's predictable and corny) I feel slightly cheated.

I'm not usually into this genre of movie but it was excellent. Ewan McGregor turned in a great performance. The special effects were excellent as well. A great action movie with a good story line and something to think about too. These don't come around too often so see it!

I went to see this movie with my dad and both him and I loved it which is un common with him. I think this is a must see.. right now it's my number one movie of all time. It is pretty long but I don't think it would be the same if they had cut out just 5 mins!
