Benedict Cumberbatch is to Sherlock Holmes as Heath Ledger is to The Joker. His acting really is that good and Martin Freeman makes his perfect pair. I look forward to the continuation of the show. They left it at quite the cliffhanger.

Benedict Cumberbatch is the most startling and excellent Sherlock Holmes that I have ever ween. Watkins and Sherlock play off each other so well, that one will get hooked on this series. I only wish there were more. First excellent TV show that I have seen in many years. Amazing talent and story lines.

I was surprised at how much I found myself enjoying this show. It's for sure one of the better ones out there and the guy playing Sherlock puts Robert Downy Jr. to Shame. Very well scripted and directed as well.

I would have given this series a 10 but the episodes were a little longer than I felt they needed to be, although I enjoyed every minute. Everything about the series is superb, from the acting and writing to the production values and cinematography. An engrossing and rollicking reworking of the Holmes Watson adventures! Highly recommended.
