It is two movies one longer and more beautiful then the other... it will remain in your mind and spirit most your life and you will return to it time and again to relish in the flavors and themes of life and love and beauty and sadness and desolation.

I am French and I recognize ourselves so much in this movie. We cant love any other way than that one depicted in 37°2 and it makes me feel so incredibly good to see it on screen. Thanks for this such realistic depiction of the people of my country. A sad expatriate!!

Real nice long film in the director's cut version, with great lighting, camera and acting work... [...]

I saw betty blue as a teenager and thought it was amazing, I usually hate films with subtitles but this is different, beartrice Dalle is also so beautiful in this film, the kind of girl every man could only dream of, excellent happy teenage memories of this film.

The book and the movie were equally compelling in their unique forms. I will never forget watching this movie with my first love. This film will always remind me of the way that love should possess and enchant your imagination. This film certainly a classic.

The book written by Djian is even better. The movie is still really good, filled with craziness, love and erotism. Beatrice Dalle is such a beautiful girl and she is a really good comedian. You must know that Djain wrote a novel with the same characters excepts for the one interpret by Dalle...

I watch this movie EVERY year, I still love it. The characters even though on screen seem so real. The acting, France, the music are all superb. The best love story I have ever seen. I fell in love with France the moment I watched this film.

I saw this movie in 1986 and was so moved by the music and the love that was shared at the beginning of the movie(before she went into darkness)

It's still my favorite movie after all these years. The things that strike me everytime I see it, is the acting, music, light, story. It all comes together perfectly. I recommend you to buy the soundtrack. It's awesome. Especially when you listen to it around midnight it creates a fantastic mood in your apartment. The DVD version should be re-released with a bigger variaty of subtitles.

This has to be just about my favorite movie, or at least in my top 5. The slow descent into insanity as depicted by actress Béatrice Dalle is riveting and very well done.

Simply put, this movie makes me want to go crazy in france. Has insanity ever looked sexier? Soundtrack by Gabriel Yared is fantastic as well!! YUM YUM!

I saw this movie few years back and never forgot it. I rented it again recently, and the impact was just the same. It was haunting, beautiful, depressing, sexy, all at once. Beatrice Dalle was beautiful, both inside and out. I'll never forget this movie. Why can't American film makers hook into this groove? At least once in awhile.

I have never seen another film quite like Betty Blue. A deep and tragic love story which develops unexpectedly with many lively and dramatic twists and turns... Betty Blue will grab your heart! This film is a definite MUST SEE!

This is the most moving movie of all time, it is such a pitty that it has not been released on dvd.

It's one of the most beautiful, sad and deep movies ever. Every single word or movement has its deep meaning. This is a real true love story. I loved it.

The director's cut is very long. I highly recommend the original version, which is just right. Exactly what I expected from a true French movie - depressing, tragic, moody, and very sexual. If you want to see the ultimate French movie, then this one is it. The ending is a classic, although not entirely original. The bottom line is: a movie that is unlikely to be forgotten.

Some years back on a visit to London I went to see this movie called "Betty Blue". When I realised it was in French my heart sank as I hate reading subtitles. To my surprise I thoroughly enjoyed it and would love to see it again. Highly recommeded!

Stunning, Harrowing and beautiful. The Directors cut may not be to some tastes as the hold up scene seems to detract from the over all feel and symetry of the film. On the other hand it does indicate, if such an indication is required by the viewer, the lengths to which Zorge will go to reclaim Betty from her downward mental spiral. This is a "must see" movie and one that lives on in the memory for years.

This movie ~rocks~. In the same vein as 'La Femme Nikita' with its depiction of a strong, classically french female protagonist. The movie seems to me to deal with the maxim that sanity is a matter of degree, where can the line be drawn and who decides to hold the pen?
