Tedious movie. I went for a bathroom break and debated about staying in the lobby. Turtle slow and uninteresting. Vanessa Redgrave and the ending was the best part, the unpredictable part. I had great expectations for this movie, because my wife said that the novel was a literary gem. The movie was a rough with no diamond, not even a piece of glass. Upper class snots acting like upper class snots bored in their daily lives is been done better. And please, rape and vengeance are nothing but yawners. The war scenes were pathetic and pointless. This movie will probably win an academy award or two, an action which will prove that pseudo-intellects reign over the empty sunday night cinemas. Truthfully, I wasted a gift certificate!!!
