This is the best film for someone who's taking Canadian History class Even if your not taking canadian history you will or should at least give it a try and see if you like it.

I thought it was realistic because it was what really happened and not overdone.

In a film like this, where we already know the outcome, it takes some effort to keep the suspense level high. Director Roger Donaldson does this by showcasing the petty politics that happens in such tense situations and the back-door deals that have to be made (sometimes at the cost of people's lives) to appease a few egos.

Provides a glimpse into the world of "Superpower politics" and just how fragile they can be. Interesting, and a good story.

I can't believe how many positive comments there are about this unrealistic film. This film used 30 year old information, thus a complete failure of historical accuracy. There has been so much new information that has been declassified over the years and I wish Hollywood would have used it to educate the public instead of portraying a cheap ''patriotic'' thriller.

Excellent!, It is a very capturing film, with good players that keep well the tension of the audience during the crisis of the US'conflict with Cuba during Kennedy's period. Kevin Costner plays a phenomenal role as a right hand of the president and it's presence becomes very influencial and even crucial on the forthcoming events.

This movie brings the Cuban Missile Crisis to "life" in a way that those of us who didn't live through that time in history could not have otherwise imagined. The movie hit me on a profound emotional level as I realized the burden placed upon these men and the weight of their decisions and actions.

Brillant, movie makers watch this, you dont need mindless action or a huge budget to produce a great film, although you know what happens in the end its shocking to see how close we really came. This is a fine exmaple of a film.

I think that 13 Days was a very accurate movie. It was full of emotion and suspence. It made you feel like you are there and it is really happening. I loved it and would recommend it. I loved it so much I am doing a paper on it for my college history class.

Interesting movie, although I can't say that it kept me on the "seat of my chair" as expected. The co-stars did a great acting job.

An edge of the seat kind of film. As the tension builds in the film, so does the tension in your own body.

This was an excellent movie. I was a very young girl when this happened and I remember being afraid to go outside for recess at school. Good viewing for all ages. Kevin Costner was great in this role.

Bruce Greenwood was great in this movie. However, in true Kevin Costner fashion this movie is much too long. I really don't see the point of spending a few seconds filming a door closing shut. It gave an interesting depiction of the Cuban missle crisis but I would have rated this movie much higher had it been shorter.

I would have to say that this movie is one of the most realistic portrayals of American history that I have ever laid my eyes on. For those of you that are expecting big Hollywood showmanship, you won't find it here. If it is flash and glitter you are looking for, you won't find that here either. What you will find however, is a movie that couldn't come any closer to repeating history unless history actually hit the re-play button. Kevin Costner and Bruce Greenwood give, in my opinion, an Oscar winning performance. The cinematography and the script are outstanding. Hold on to your amazement people, this is definitely a winner. 13 Days really made you feel as though you were there for all thirteen days. Every single second. Without a break. Agonising. The movie put the first five minutes on 'LOOP' for thirteen days. Same dialogues. Same lame acting. Same boring camera work. For thirteen days. Bring a pillow and some food supplies if you're going to see this. If you're awake past the first half hour... Nevermind, you won't be.

Excellent movie! We were expecting a bit of a historical document and were very pleasantly surprised. The actors, action, suspense and special effects are of superior quality. You won't be bored a single minute!

I thought this was one of the better movies I have seen in a while. You could get caught up in the tension they were feeling, and the fact it is reality based is a big bonus. The actors were excellent, and I will give Costner a break here, as I have noticed a lot of others did not :-) I would even see it twice.

Bad acting, bad directing... I am sure Oliver Stone would make a masterpice of that interesting topic. Unfortunately, it happend the director was not-so-talented Roger Donaldson. Can anybody explain the artistic reason and logic in using black and white shots? I mean, consistency in logic? (No such a person, including Donaldson himself).

Excellent movie. Even though the story line is taken from the history books and you know the outcome, still managed to keep me on the edge of my seat. Only downside was trying to get over the ridiculous accent from Kevin Costner. Bruce Greenwood does a great job plaing JFK.

I really enjoyed this movie. I didn't know much about what had happened so it was really interesting for me. Even though Kevin Costner wasn't really good in the movie, it still was really good.

Very good tense movie... It took me some time to get into the character's place, because I thought Kevin Costner and Bruce Greenwood were just acting badly, but after the first 20 minutes you are really into the GREAT tension the crisis was, and you can actually FEEL all the pressure Kennedy and his associates have been through. The actors are really good, and the movie is very instructive as well. I had studied the Cuban Missile crisis in high scholl, yet by watching the movie I had a much clearer view of the events and the political situation. Go see it! (obviously, as the others said, there's not much action but the movie's still very good! )

Excellent... Gripping! Even though we know the outcome, the ongoing suspense and build-up last throughout! Highly recommended (even if you're on the "can't stand K. Costner" bandwagon)

Very good movie; but I think that to really enjoy the movie, you should at least know some of the events that happened about the crisis between USA and Cuba. The movie does not show all the real events that occured but it does show how close we came to a WWIII and possibly to the end of the world.

I enjoyed very much. Political and historical insight as never seen before. We really got a great cast to represent JFK, Robert Kennedy and Robert Mcnammara the secretary of defense. Kevin Costner's role and rendition is finally one that he can be proud of. Great Historical Value!!

One of the better movies I've seen in awhile. Intelligent, idealistic, not completely historically inaccurate and entertaining throughout its epic length. Not really self-congratulatory at all either.

Brilliant, is all that is needed to be said about this film. From the films' perfectly executed acting to its detailed and intricate plot, the movie was a classic. It showed the inner workings of the White House and Pentagon that few have a chance to experience. The film had the intensity that could be felt by just watching the film. It was like experiencing the Cuban missile crisis yourself. The film is as oringinal as you can get.
