Perhaps one of the worst remakes ever made. The original was a chilling ghost story in the tradition of the Legend of the Flying Dutchman. The new version owes more to the teen-age slasher flic genre. The film is populated with stereotypical characters sputtering bad dialogue in a poorly directed B horror film that fails to generate any genuine scares at all. You want a great, moody ghost story for Halloween? Rent, or better yet, buy the original John Carpenter version on DVD. Stay away from this turd that has washed up upon our shores.
