I enjoyed this story about a father/daughter relationship. It had good acting and an engaging story. I'm amazed by Clint Eastwood - he's old but he's good at being a crusty old guy.

Amy is an excellent actress and delivers a very compelling performance along with John Goodman and Clint Eastwood. The film is quite frankly superb!

Found it to be slow moving. I think maybe it's time Clint Eastwood called it a day. I'd day his performance was close to that of his chair speech at the Republican Party's Convention... unmoving & boring.

Oh, my gawd! This is such a tremendous film. Eastwood is a natural on camera and so smooth and slick. Makes acting look easy. Excellent production and direction qualities make this film truly a work of art. A+

If you like an old fashion movie with laughs, drama and romance, come see this movie. I truly enjoyed it.

I simply adored this flic! Eastwood is the old curmudgeon fart as he has been playing in his last several pictures. Makes you want to kick his sorry old ass... but he's a very compelling presence on the screen. Go Clint!

Excellent film! It will get a bunch of Oscars no doubt at all there. Amy, Justine and Clint have great chemistry on screen; it's palpable.

Love, loved, loved it. Great suspense that builds and builds. Amy and Justin do the film a great service as superb actors in this great story. Eastwood has the crabby and angry old fart down to an art.

Wow! Amy Adams is awesome in this film and Clint is not so shabby either. This pic will get some Oscars -- certainly Eastwood is an excellent producer of this artwork. Bravo!

Clint Eastwood still has it, even in his eighties. The movie is very enjoyable, and has a few unexpected twists.
| 8/10 | spauze@ - 2 reviews 26.10.2012 - age: 36-49 |
Give it up Clint- you are done for and to old to act or direct as the movie clearly shows. Dull to the very end with Amy the bright light. Lovely lady with potential.

Good solid movie. Entertaining, and something to satisfy the whole family.

Slow movie, nothing exciting. Went because I won free passes. Probably better for someone who likes baseball or Clint Eastwood. Only positive was the cute Amy Adams and Justin Timberlake.

This was an enjoyable movie. Displaying only too well the distance that can exist between fathers and daughters.

A movie worth seeing. The acting and plot was great.
| 8/10 | mccurdycynthiaf@ - first review 19.10.2012 - age: 50+ |
This was not a very entertaining movie and had little focus on baseball, but more about a father/daughter strained relationship. Perhaps I have become a little jaundiced over Eastwood's politics, but even that aside, I think his acting is slipping as is his choice of movie roles as an actor/director. I'm being charitable giving this effort a 6!

Good story, Amy Adams is great as usual, Clint plays himself as usual and turns in a solid performance as usual, company excellent with the exception of Timberlake... can't sing, can't dance and definitely can't act... surrounded by a great cast who carry him... don't quit your day job, Justin.

It is difficult to find good movies today. There are several life issues dealt with in this movie. And it is well acted too.

A very good, down-to-earth, movie with a great theme. Nice to be able to enjoy a show with a realistic theme that lifts up your spirit, rather than plunging it deeper into the turmoil and confusion of the day. So sick of the occult-based or violence peddling mentality of most of the crap being pushed down our throats today. Maybe it's time for some people to get back to reality and contribute to making this world the place it is meant to be - instead of what Hollywood wants to manipulate people into turning it into.

I found this to be a heart warming and easy to follow movie. Wonderful movie to watch after working all day. I love movies that entertain you and do not stress you out with never ending fatalities. This movie is just what you would expect of Clint Eastwood. I would love to see it again in a few weeks!

Good story. Good acting. I predicted the outcome, but Eastwood has a way of crafting his films that make them worthwhile to see.

This movie has something for everyone. Both my husband and I enjoyed it immensely. One of the best movies we have seen in a very long time. Both Clint Eastwood and Amy Adams deserve an Oscar for this movie. Don't miss it!!

If you are a fan of Clint Eastwood go see it. I really enjoyed his Dirty Harry stuff, he always has some line, consise, to the point, and humourous in his movies. This one is no exception. In Magnum force after hearing his friend say that his fellow officer could be gay, Dirty Harry replies if they could shoot a gun like him I don't care if the whole force was queer! Good old Clint... I wonder if he writes his own lines in to the scripts. Acting was good except Timberlake, the director never gives him many close ups or cuts away when his face does not hold the emotion. I hate it when musicians want to switch genres, except Cher shes a natural talent The story was very realistic. So get off my lawn and go see it!!

The movie is a little slow to pick up, but once it got going, it had you rooting as much as a baseball game would. With clear villains and an obvious storyline, it was a treat to watch the chemistry between the actors on screen.

I love all the actors in this movie. And any movie about baseball is a good movie. I recommend this particular one because Clint Eastwood rocks, Amy Adams plays well as his daughter. Justin Timberlake plays his role well, I like him in these tyes of movies rather than the killing movies he always plays in.

This film highlights the joys of baseball, with a sentimental side. It also highlights in this movie, the parental responsibilities of an absent father following the loss of his wife. The pain of the loss of his wife was heavy but did not justify his choice to have left his daughter at such a young age. We note here the importance of the fatherly commitments, where the presence of his father was really important to her. Following the loss of his wife, he had a sense of guilt and he has fear to be at the dependant of his daughter. He founded happiness after a long absence, but he does not know how to manage his feelings. For him, he thought that his daughter would be more happy without him. Everything in life is a matter of choice We make the choice of our lives, our instruction, and we make our destiny. The father chose to never remarry. This is a good example to show that he deprived himself to offer the best to his child : first, the education to cope in life, and secondly, the importance of family values that he has transmitted to her despite his pitfalls. The role of actor of Justin Timberlake is excellent. He is in a gentleman. He embodies the courteous man, responsible and with a sense of respect for the others. Amy Adams played very well her role of Mickey, she made her choice by giving priority to the sincerity of feelings. She has preferred to remain with her father and she has became grateful for what she had.
