Much lighter hearted than I expected. Not played for laughs but there was some nice irreverence to counterpoint the serious moments. Acting was excellent, top to bottom, great timing and directing by Kenneth Branagh. Yet another movie where 3D was much more of a distraction than an enhancement. 3D is going to go away just like it has every other time it has been forced onto screens; soon to be used for little more than schlock horror then to fade away again for another decade... hopefully longer.
