When it comes to 'Life as a house', the word 'outstanding' comes to mind!. An outstanding script and outstanding movie making and acting! You will rarely see a movie that will move you to tears like this one does! But first a word about Kevin Kline! Kevin Delaney Kline was born on October 24th, 1947 in St-Louis-Missouri-USA. He studied at Indiana University in Bloomington and later joined the Acting Company in New York, which was headed by John Houseman at the time. He performed Shakespear on stage across the country. He won two tony awards for his work in musicals. His first movie performance was in Sophie's Choice opposite Meryl Streep in 1992, which landed him two Golden Globe nominations! He also acted in'The big chill' (1983), 'Silverado' (1985), 'A fish called Wanda' (1988), 'Grand Canyon' (1991), 'Consenting Adults' (1992), 'Chaplin' (1992), 'In and out' (1997), 'French Kiss' (1995) with Meg Ryan, 'independence day' and a whole lot more!. Also starring in this memorable movie are: Kristin Scott Thomas as Robin, Jena Malone as Alyssa and Mike Weinburg as Adam! Kline won several prizes and nominations-Such as the one from The Screen Actors Guild for best performance! Life As A House is a hauntingly precious journey into the trials, tribulations and struggles of a man who chose to re-build what was left of his life in order to find some peace and serenity for him, his family and his community! A touching movie regarding the heartbreak of separation and the pain inflicted by loss. The movie shows that life is unpredictable as well as precious but as long as there is breath there is room for personal redemption.

I like two things about this movie, how George patches things up with his family and how everyone reunites, and the other thing I like about this movie is... Hayden Christensen, in this movie he is so gorgeous! He is seriously a force to be reckoned with! I really like the fact that he turned his life around... this is a MUST SEE!

One of my favorite movies, it touches the soul... great performances,.. this one snuck under the radar at oscar time, I never understood why it never got the publicity it deserves... fantastic movie... even my tough husband was touched by it!!!

I watched this movie with my mother and it was the first time I ever saw her cry. It was a very touching story and is a great movie to watch with your family. It will finally show your parents to accept you for who you are, and visa virsa.

This is one of the best movies I have seen. If you have teenage kids its definitely a movie to sit down and watch with them. Its just a wonderful movie.

Beautiful film. This movie is full of passion and compassion. Some of it is as one would expect, a bit melodramatic, but there are enough surprises in the plot to entertain an old cynic like myself. An entertaining, intelligent, moving film.

This movie gives you so much to think about. Family relationships, your own mortality, getting your priorities straight. I thought Kevin Kline was wonderful and even enjoyed the actress who played his ex-wife even though I don't usually care for her. I have recommended this movie to a lot of my friends and everyone who has seen it has enjoyed it.

Great ensemble, with realistic reactions and proactions. Perhaps everyone in the movie came to terms with their life much too easily, nonetheless the drama seemed real enough to be moving. Hayden Christiensen was superb in his supporting role, and Kevin Kline is always worth seeing.

A movie that changed my life... I still cant forget hyden whose in many ways simillar to me... and keven lien... oh god... a father every boy would like to have.

This is one of the greatest dramas I have ever seen. Although it's sad, it's also very touching and so real. I work in a video store and I have recommended it to so many customers and have not heard a single negative remark. It's a must see!!! And don't forget the box of kleenex!!!

Oh My God!! Hayden was so HOTT in the movie. It had a very good storyline. But the only thing that disappointed me in the movie was when Hayden's character turn into a normal teenager. He was so much hotter with the piercings!! The other than that bothered me was when Hayden's character stopped using drugs and didn't have any withdrawal effects at all. To me that is really hard to believe. But over all the movie was great!!

This has become one of my favourite movies! It made me cry. Laugh and drool (over Hayden) Everything that I saw in this movie had a relation 2 me and I was so intrigued by it... I love this movie and you should go see it like I have- over and over and over again! If you noticed that I rated it a 9 instead of a 10 it's because I think Hayden was much sexier in the beginning when he was himself and he was so perfect and then he become a boring? &8! Like everyone else... this movie should teach you tp be who you wanna be and to live your life cuz you never know when you're going to die or kill yourself! Congrats so Hayden who was an incredible actor and really brought out the essence of being a teenager and the movie was totally realistic! Go see it as soon as possible!

This movie was extremely depressing. I don't know why everyone loves it so much. It was dealing with every depressing subjects in life. I wouldn't see it twice anyways.

I thought this movie was such a masterpiece, the way all the characters made it look so real. In a way, I felt like I was accually there, and some of the emotions felt, were one of a kind! This is one of those movies that you need to watch with a box of kleenex nearby. Kevin Kline is wonderful as the man who realizes too late what the important things in life really are.

It was an extremely AWSOME GREAT SUPER MOVIE!!! Luved it... It was soooooo sad, however, it had a meaningful message to it.

Be warned --- this movie is a serious tear jerker and a little draining. DO NOT let that scare you away from this brilliant movie that is a rare gem in this time of "Shallow Hal" and super cheesy Steven Segal. Between this movie and The Royal Tenenbaums, I'm starting to think that Hollywood has developed some intelligence and emotion. I just hope it lasts.

I'm glad I wasn't on a first date to see this movie or my guy would have thought me a blubbering neurotic. I was unprepared for the degree of emotion in this flick, but it was very good. Hayden Christensen is quite the talent and not hard to look at, I guess after May we'll see and hear a lot more about him. Kevin Kline was scruffily great; Jena Malone was underused for her talent, but good. The whole cast and story was wonderful, especially all the plots going on at once, very much like real life, nothing is simple or separate. And I do believe everything happens for a reason, sometimes it just takes a while to figure the cosmic flow out.

A very good story idea, A really bad script and so/so acting given what they had to work with. Example - storyline would have been fine without the subplots of neighbour's mother sleeping with her daughter's boyfriend - a real turn off and added nothing to the story line. Script had some good parts and then a lot of bad writing that had these incredibly talented actors and actresses struggling. Rework the script and there is definite potential.

HOW COME I cannot rate this one among movies playing today? The cast maybe, they could play better. The story is catchy that's the thing. Although don't be affraid to see it, maybe you will find out it's the thing needed.

I've seen it 4 times... all I can say is that this movie is awesome! It is so sad that they didn't do any promotion! I'll just die waiting for it to be on video...

Wow! Just wow! This movie was absolutely amazing!!! There are no words to describe it! All the women in my family saw it and said it was amazing. Finally they pressured me into seeing it and boy was I amazed!!! Of course once I found out that my friend was in the movie I was much more willing to see it. Still, it was breathtaking. I saw it again with the same friends and me and my girlfriend are going to see it together. Her second time, my third. I have been harrassing everyone I know to go and see this movie and I suggest that you do the same. I am definitely getting the dvd when it comes out, soon I hope! I don't think I can wait that long!!! This amazing movie should not be missed!!!

I wouldn't go as far as to say that this was a bad movie, but it wasn't really a good movie.

This movie is a MUST see! This is one of the best movies I have seen this year. It's for those who enjoy a good story, that is real. It makes you reflect on life to see what is real and what counts. Another thing that was well portrayed in this movie is how the single most important factor in how a child turns out is parents love. Beautiful movie- very real, touching, same time funny and sad, basically everything that life is. Don't miss this one.
