John Travolta starred in the movie Phenomenon which had a similar theme, regarding how an expanding intellect can impact on your life. Phenomenon was better without all the special effects. Limitless is a good movie. There are four distinct story-lines that are wrapped up at the end. The director is very creative whenever the lead's mind soars into full gear. (Potheads should avoid this movie... too freaky.) The Russian gangster is very menacing and convincing. I am not sure why DeNiro was in this movie. As a person portraying a big wheeler dealer, he fell short. He was dressed for the role but his hair needed work, and he was not intimidating. I suppose using him in the ads for the movie would bring out a few more patrons. He was the weakest of all the secondary characters. But I digress. The movie is good. Its pace is steady and there are no lags in the storyline.
