I was looking for a light story. This one had good potential, until all the soccer moms starting hitting on the coach. That made it way to cheesy for my tastes. I was happy for a good ending, and the fact that the dad really had good intentions towards his son and exwife.

Was expecting more but hey it was still pretty good. Felt more like a tv movie. Otherwise it was very lite.

It was ok, main theme was good but it could be better.

Boring, predictable, didn't stay long enough to see the ending.

I watched it without high expectations, cause usually when there's lots of known actors in a movie, it's not that good, but this was a great movie, good story, funny and fun to see. Gerard Butler is as always a good performer. I think the little kid has great acting talent, he was brilliant.

Okay... went to see this movie with my girlfriend and we both usually like chick flicks, but this movie was just boring, dumb, no point.

The actors did their work well and made the best of the script they were given. Yes, women have a desperate and somewhat ugly dark side; it is interestingly displayed in the movie. It's not a romantic comedy, it's not a drama, it's not an action movie. It doesn't fit anywhere and that reflects the script. One could say that the script is a bit blah.

I really enjoyed this movie. I had some heart to it along with a good story line. Gerard Butler is yummy as always. :-)

Great storyline and you have to like any movie Uma Thurman is in, even if not a main character.

Very disappointed, not at all what I expected and was a waste of good actors.

I'm baffled by the viewers who are giving this film 9s and 10s. Have you seen Shawshank Redemption? The Godfather? Ghostbusters? Ferris Bueller's Day Off? There are countless other contenders for a 9 or 10 rating, but Playing for Keeps is not one of them. It was a decent movie, but it lacked focus and direction. It would be all about soccer for the longest while, then all about the coach sleeping with the soccer moms, then about his relationship with his wife and his career. Layers are great, subplots are fantastic, but they weren't done well in this movie. It just seemed like it didn't know what kind of movie it was and bounced around. The acting wasn't bad, and Catherine Zeta-Jones was fantastic. A feel-good ending, which I enjoy, but I can't in good faith give this movie any more than a 6. Absolutely not appropriate for children.

Really hit home if you have ever had a broken relationship and are a parent and share custody will love this movie. My girlfriend left the movie crying. A must see for any couple don't go alone to see this one.

Must be Uma Thurman, Dennis Quaid, and Catherine Zeta Jones' worst films ever. Good idea for a plot but really badly written and directed. Even Butler's gorgeous personna couldn't rescue this terrible film. Started checking the time 10 minutes into the film.

This is a great movie. It was very moving and a comedy as well as a real life movie.

Was quite surprised by this one, wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. It was a heartwarming story which my wife and I both enjoyed.

The poster for Playing for Keeps makes it look like a fun comedy. But it was actually sad and uncomfortable to watch. All these spoiled adults unhappy with their lives. Where is the comedy? The ending was completely unrealistic. Wow what I would not give to have access to all these big stars like Catherine Zeta-Jones and Uma Thurman and write a real movie script for them.

Probably the most humdrum non-cg movie in years. There were 12 girls (ages 13-14? ) seated in the row in front of me. A few chuckles, the odd snicker; what were they there for? The three gals in the film that were on the prowl had an average age of 41+. No matter, they were the real eye-candy. Catherine Zeta-Jones could have been fined for being so attractive.

The movie places people in age group that has gone through life and are settled, so they think, with the reality that "Yes it didn't workout but I still need someone there in my life to feel whole so we will keep looking and try again." I can only think we see in ourselves we deserve to be happy with someone there it is a must.

Good cast, good acting, especially the young lad. Very entertaining. Nice to see a movie that every other word isn't an f word.

A pleasant romantic comedy, not corny at all. Perfect for couples. (I'm a guy by the way) I liked the acting and I found the situations and questions Butler character goes through in the movie very realistic. Butler rules. HA-OOH! HA-OOH! HA-OOH! (spartan Army)

Un feeling good movie comme on les aime. On rit, on pleure, on décroche complètement! Le jeu de acteurs est juste, et on veut y croire... Et messieurs, vous voudrez habiter cette banlieu en voyant les dames...
