I thought the movie was solid - and cruise appealing. As another reviewer indicated it is probably a 7.5 out of 10. But I was entertained.

Interestingly, somehow, not too bad!

Great movie, much better than I expected from reading some of the reviews. Good fast moving action thriller with some graphic scenes.

I enjoyed it for what it was. I saw it as a fan of Cruise who I believe handles this kind of material quite well and he wasn't disappointing. The plot held my attention right up until the very end. I'd say at least a 7.5... it was very good!

I am not a big Cruise fan but this movie was goood. Cruise was excellent and the movie kept me guessing till the end. LOVED the movie. So why doesn't it come out till may?

It was okay. The plot is nothing new and has been in other movies and TV shows. Some of the dialogue was a little corny. I'll give it credit for the ending which was a bit of a surprise. There are worse ways to spend two hours.

If you go into it not expecting much, you won't be disappointed. It's your run of the mill BIG DUMB ACTION movie, a vehicle for Tom Cruise (entering dangerously close to Nicolas Cage mid-life-crisis territory) to show he's still got it and with some tricksy camera angles that he's "really not THAT short". It's a blip on the radar, lost in the shuffle of a sea of similar titles and action slop. Not having read the books on which the film is based, I can only guess at how disappointed fans will be with the casting choice. That being said, it has its moments (however unbelievable) so if you're spending a night in with the flu, and don't want to think too much, rent it from your local red box on the cheap.

Tom Cruise generally guarantees some really good action in his films. This one had a lot of that. Was a lot more graphic than I anticipated and honestly didn't add to the movie in a great way. So if you are a fan of Tom this movie will not disappoint. He is the dark night sort of speak.

Really nice movie, full of action and funny, it's really a Tom Cruise movie! At one point, the ending was kind of strange because nobody seemed affected by all the gun firing and the killing that happened like 2 min before, but beside that, it was excellent.

I really liked it. I thought Tom did an excellent job. Hopefully their will be a sequel.

Good movie. However I must admit I felt uneasy being part of the society that pays good money to see someone knocking off random people. Anyway I did and guess that says something about me and society in general. As for the movie it was a script for Cruise and no one else. As usual he has excellent timing for comedy and does his usual beefcake. Casting him as an unbeatable man is like making Mary Poppins play a [h..].

Cruise is even cockier than usual. He has all the answers... some even before the question is asked. The film also lacks continuity in several areas, none more evident than after the last fight scene... Reacher is covered in mud & soaking wet, yet 30 seconds later, in the shack, he and his clothes are miraculously dry and clean... go figure. I spent hard earned money for this movie, so the makers could be somewhat realistic.

It was really nothing like the books, I don't think Tom Cruise was the guy for that role.

Having read all the Jack Reacher novels I was amused that Tom Cruise was cast as this 6' 5" tall anti 'hero'. After seeing the movie I felt that other than the height challenge, Tom Cruise IS Jack Reacher, his acting made you forget the shortage, he played Jack R perfectly with a little comedy, & a solitary mysterious life etc., 1st class. I hope this is the beginning of a series, Lee Childs books deserve more than one attempt on the screen.

If you've read the Jack Reacher books you quickly realize that Cruise is the worst possible casting for the title role. In the books Reacher is 6'5" and his size is integral to the character. This movie is Jack Reacher in title only.

Tom Cruise is in it, that's the only reason it was made, it was tv quality at best.

I love the Reacher novels. I was more than a little doubtful that Tom Cruise could pull it off but he did a wonderful job of portraying the tough no nonsense kind of guy Jack Reacher is in the novels. Quite entertaining.

Constant entertainment either by action or plot development. Somewhat cookie cutter plot but well put together, mostly plausible which is rare in movies today. Be aware though, most scenes are Tom Cruise.

I LOVED IT, LoooVED IT! People that rate it negatively I think are just being too picky for no reason and like something specific and pick on details! Everyone I spoke to that saw it, loved it :) Great!!!

Tom Cruise returns to the big screen with the typical bright eyed intensity that is his trademark. The story is well-crafted and engaging, and despite Cruise's boyish charm and slight stature, he carries the role of Jack Reacher well. It's a surprisingly entertaining film that weaves elements of comedy and drama together in a healthy mix. There's a nobility about his character that sets you firmly in his corner and a mysterious past that begs a story for another time. All in all, Jack Reacher is a worthy watch.

This movie sucks. Tom cruise sucks as a director. Don't let your kids see this. I can't believe I used my scene points on this crap!

I admit, I was leery of TC as Reacher - the foot and change height difference alone was a challenge. Happily enough, the story line was great, and if you paid attention, you could see several nods to the original book. Such as changing cars frequently - he doesn't own one and steals or borrows as he goes. And TC played the part well, deadpan jokes, strong facial expression and smooth fight scenes. Overall, I was really glad I went. And really glad they toned down the violence from the books. That would have been uncomfortable.

Tom Cruise shows us once again why he's the Number One action star in the world. Always displaying his incredible versatility as an actor Mr. Cruise has an incredible physical presence on the big screen choosing great film vehicles to perform in. Jack Reacher is an entertaining ride. Tom Cruise kicks some serious butt. I highly recommend it.

Jack Reacher was good, but not nearly as action-packed as you might think after seeing the preview. Some parts were far-fetched, even for movies. And other parts were beyond explanation, such as why does the main character change cars every 5 minutes?

I so much want to dislike Tom Cruise movies... and for the most part, I do. The last 2 movies however, (MI2 and this one), have been quite enjoyable. Those with ADD will moan about how slow the movie is. Those of us who can go 12 seconds between explosions, actually enjoy plot development, and appreciate the wry humour sprinkled throughout the movie. Maybe it helped that I had no preconceptions about Jack Reacher, being blissfully unaware of the books or comics or whatever. Regardless, I had a good time, and you can't ask for much more than that.
