Great dialogues, great performances, and a subject that isn't frequent in movies but very frequent in life. Also, if you like Bradley Cooper, then you're set for delight.

I loved this movie because it expressed opinions and as heartfelt and knee slapping hilarious and of course the fact broadly cooper was in it may have had a small part in me seeing it in the first place ;) And of course Jennifer Lawrence never fails to amuse me!

It was a good movie and if you understand the movie and comprehend the moral of the story then you can actually like the movie. I'm 12, so everybody should understand the moral of the story if I got it.

Probably one of the best movies I have ever seen. I think Bradley Cooper should have won an Oscar for his acting, which was sensational. It had everything I think a good movie needs: depth, sadness, comic relief, flaws in people, and a focus on hardhsips of life. My only complaint was the ending, which wasn't even that bad, but could have been better, but the rest was amazing. You have to see this movie.

This was a great movie!! I wasn't expecting it to be a feel-good movie, but in the end I felt great about it! Definitely worth seeing.

I expected a lot from this movie and it fell flat. For most part, I don't think it was a real reflection on mental illness.

Normally not my type of movie but we watched it because it was rated good and liked the actors involved. Quirky, fairly predictable but very charming none the less. Cooper, Lawrence, and De Niro were all excellent here and made the movie that much better.

What an average movie. Poor scenario, Cooper is over acting, this dance thing is absurd... Can't believe it was nominated for the Oscar for best picture! Com'on! Extremely deceiving.

This movie has superb ensemble acting and carefully explores various characters who suffer from emotional problems and mental illness. The film demystifies mental illness, showing how treatment and mutual support can help those who suffer improve. The film is a bittersweet story of unexpected love.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.]
It was Hollywoodish, though not standard Hollywoodish. I enjoyed it, but wish it was a 1/2 hour shorter. Loved all the characters. I wish the mom was given more attention- loved her. The funny scene where Jennifer Lawrence responds to De Niro's criticism of her taking Bradley Cooper away from the family viewing of Sunday football was HILARIOUS. I loved De Niro's response to her tirade. That one scene was worth the price of admission and more. And the final dance scene was great- both the final scoring scene, which was very funny, and for all the guys Jennifer is very hot in that scene.

I recommend watching this movie, I enjoyed the dark comedy regarding mental illness. In some ways they were pushing it a little too far though.

I think " The Silver Linings Playbook " is a great movie even if it's not my king of movie (romantic comedy) The actors are great (Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, etc.) and the story line is funny. Don't miss it (even if you usually do not like romantic comedy)!

Terrible. I went to see it after hearing some great reviews, and boy did it disappoint. This subject could have inspired such an intense and emotional script, could have demanded that the actors actually showcase their talent, but instead this movie was like a glass of soda left out on the counter - lukewarm with no fizz. This was probably the first time I was rooting for a movie to lose at the Oscars.

Subject and screen play was great. Cooper and Lawrence did a great performance.

Not bad. It's sort of like watching a train wreck with respect to the issue of mental illness. A bit predictable from a Hollywood perspective, especially with respect to the ending, but watchable from start to end.

I felt the people in the movie were bipolar and what a waste of my time. I don't know why it has such a high rating. The atmosphere of the whole movie felt like I am in a hospital.

This is a must see movie. Bradly Cooper and Robert De Niro played together one of the best roles I have seen for them. Besides, Jennifer Lawrence was completely in to her role. The movie was a drama that discussed in a sarcastic way.

It was an original story, very well presented. I didn't know much of the story before I went to see it and was very well surprised on how much I loved the movie.

This is a poor example of how Hollywood thinks of metal illness. Degrading to anyone or has family that suffers from it. Did not find it funny at all and did not keep my interest right from the start. I can not think of anything good to say about this movie other then the popcorn.

Great character development and performances by all. Worth it even with its semi predictable plot line.

Just terrible, so poorly written you would never believe that real human beings would talk to each other like they do in this movie, insulting to people with real mental illness and a shame that such good actors got pulled into this steaming pile.

Is this how Hollywood imagine mental illness? Or if they did it accurately nobody would watch? So it's the mental illness going commercial. I found some humor even a bit offensive, this is not a joke, this is a serious, real issue for so many people. As for the movie itself, not very funny, not very deep, acting was not real, total disappointment!

I can understand that people nowadays need to have the assurance that there is hope for everyone and if two mentally vulnerable people can do it, they can do it, and that is fine, if you can go through intense moments of tension and verbal violence and a sort of botched out denouement.

This is a must-see. I had seen Jennifer Lawrence in The Hunger Games, but I really didn't know she could act. She was absolutely amazing in this picture. Great acting by a great ensemble cast. And a story about people and relationships. You'll laugh, you'll cry. Go see it!

The actors all did a superb job of their characters. Love Jennifer Lawrence, but not sure if it was an Oscar worthy performance; or movie, for that matter. It depicts real life dealing with mental illness from all respects & points of view... good story, an ok movie.

Very good acting, DeNiro excellent, same for the rest. The only thing I don't feel comfortable they keep using the word (f...) sorry but I disagree, their no need.

I guess I would describe this movie as a romantic comedy with a twist -- in that most of the characters are twisted in their own way. I am not that much of a fan of rom-com, but I really enjoyed this one. Pretty interesting and original story line, and really top-notch acting from pretty much the whole cast. Jennifer Lawrence won the Best Actress Oscar, and she was good... but I probably thought Bradley Cooper was better. The main thing that wins me over with this movie is that the chemistry between the characters was good, but not in a syrupy, tired, cliché way. As the rating says, worth seeing.

At first I wasn't sure but then it all came together. The two main actors were perfect for the parts.

I see why Jennifer Lawrence won the academy award. She was awesome and in all fairness the whole cast was great and so believable. You could not help but feel for the whole Solatano clan and those who were closest too them. I did not know what to expect going to see this but it was a great old fashion movie with a wonderful story line. Will see again.
