It was interesting but only wished it had more umph too it. Was expecting more I guess from all those previews but then again it was certainly a good decent movie.
This is the worst movie that I have ever seen. Poor acting, horrible visual effects. The actors couldn't even keep a consistent accent. Save your money. You will be very disappointed if you go to see this movie.

I am a huge fan of the books, but I'm sorry this movie was an utter disappointment, although it did not stay true to the book at all (beside cast and familiar events) it did keep me entertained the whole time. I also thought that bringing two no name d-list actors to a movie with a budget of over 60 million dollars was another mistake, the only person I thought fit the role was the character of Mason. Even though I read the book I was also confused at times- and the dning. Don't even get me started.

I loved this movie. It was magical. Emma Thompson is one of my favorite actresses and she lives up to her expectations here.

Omg this movie is so great, everyone needs to see this movie, it has a whole lot of emotion and a whole lot of loving! All of the people that are in that movie are very good actors! The movie has a lot of love, emotion and facial expression! For all the people out there that have not seen this movie, stop what you are doing and buy tickets because you really need to see this movie!

It was so amazing! Me and my BFF went to it and at the end we where like "turn around!! Turn around!" it was really, really good!

I was not familiar with the book(s), but wanted to see the film because of the stellar cast - Jeremy Irons, Emma Thompson, Eileen Atkins, Viola Davis! The two teen lead actors were new to me and I found they were very charming and great in their roles. The scenery was great, the plot was magical/supernatural and the effects were fantastic. This is a fun romp of a film with a bit of teenage and southern family angst thrown in. I liked it, but if I was a teenage girl again - I would see this film dozens of times.

An absolute piece of garbage, forget about it. Don't even bother to rent it at the video store let alone spending cinema price. I couldn't make head nor nail of the plot (what plot? ) A total absolute waste of money.

It was an enjoyable movie and the acting was OK. I liked the way it ended and hopefully there is another movie to continue the story line.

Love this movie the actors are great!! The story line is not the same as the book but it's still it's similar and Its VERY good! I do think the ending is quite disappointing... But the direction and the imagery were great! I highly recommend: Boy- Girl any age. I also think that the message of the story was very real and touching!

I enjoyed this movie, it was entertaining thru out. Great choice in actor selection. Just might have to read the books now. On a side note, I asked the hubby "did you like it? " he replied it wasn't bad but you and your friends are gonna go all "twilight" over it then it will suck.

Great storyline and the young actors were amazing. Very different from the typical ending of movies out today. Costumes were absolutely beautiful, as well. Emma Thomson deserves an award for this one.. !

I'm 27 and I actually liked this, better than Twilight. It's got a nice twist at the end and all the characters are cute. The movie is inappropriately funny at times, but overall it has something dark about it and it was pretty interesting. Wouldn't see it again, but definitely worth watching at the movies.

I read the book and I've seen the movie! It's amazing movie! So perfect! I advise you to read the book, then watch the movie. It's perfect if you like fantasies or romances! Now go see it!!!

Disappointingly boring despite the well known cast of Viola Davis and Jeremy Irons in it. Story wasn't even that interesting and the effects were sub par. The only good thing was the actor who played Ethan who was funny and charming.

It wasn't a bad movie. It was confusing sometimes. I felt the editing was poor. So at times it felt patchy. It had beautiful special effects and the acting wasn't bad. It made me want to read the books, which I'm sure are probably better.

The movie was a great fun, with witty dialogs, very different story line and some great acting. Alden Ehrenreich is such a charmer - will make you smile whenever he's on screen.

This movie was terrible, absolute cheese fest, the actors were bad lead male and female horrible and were not a convincing couple at all and all this coming from a twilight fan... please don't compare this garbage to Twilight it is the utmost insult! I felt compelled to write a review because it was so corny and bad!! The other people I went with looked at me like what the heck did I bring them to it was embarrassing. I'm sure I'll never get to pick another movie now. Two thumbs way down.

The two main actors did a fantastic job. It was a great fantasy teen film, do not, not watch it because people are comparing it to Twilight. It's better than Twilight, the acting is so much better and it's actually really interesting. I highly recommend to see it.

I liked the glow in the dark stuff and the snow. The parts I didn't like where the dark parts of the movie and I didn't like hearing someone chocking / gagging that part was gross now I'm having nightmares I don't recommend this movie for ppl who are sensitive or get nightmares.

What a pleasant surprise. Went to see this with my 10 year old daughter. We hadn't heard anything about it but thought we'd give it a try. We both loved it. I'll go see it again with my 17 and 20 year old girls too.

This was not what I expected. Thought it would have more of a fun tone but it was more geared to the darker feel. I personally thought the special effects were very mediocre, with all the effects other similar movies have, this was not well done. Storyline was alright, nothing new. Lots of randomness throughout the movie. Disappointing.
