A fun movie with a good cast of characters. Some nice harmonies and acoustic singing arrangements.

To sum this movie up, it was a combination of High School Musical and Glee. And not in a good way. The plot was terrible and predictable, and I laughed maybe two times out of the entire thing. I went in with high hopes-maybe too high- to see this movie after hearing all the raving reviews about how hilarious it was. Uh, yeah, it wasn't, and I almost fell asleep. Acting, mediocre, singing, really good, movie, sucks. Save your money. Don't see it.

Yeah, I really liked this movie. It was a movie recommendation from my wife who wanted to see this or The Fourth Kind (which I hear is horrible) So Anna Kendrick being cute as a button, I figured it was a safe bet. Really fun movie, a little sappy and predictable at times with a protgonist who is surprisingly unlikeable at times but overall it was very enjoyable. The musical numbers are lots of fun (worst lip-synching since Ashlee Simpson tho) and the story moves along quickly. Who is the antagonist supposed to be, by the way? Is it Aubrey (vomit-on-demand leader of group) who is certainly annoying, or is it Bumper (lead male singer of rival group) who is totally hilarious? I couldn't decide. Really great performances from leads like Kendrick (some scenes I could have sworn are just a commercial for teeth whitener) and other members of her group like Fat Amy (who everyone will like) and others. It is no Hairspray or anything but it was good fun to watch (and to listen to, obv) Good rental if you want a good date movie choice too.

Like a 2 hour version of "Glee". Some good music and humour.

Okay lesbehonest this is an aca-awesome movie! Skylar Astin is super cute and a wonderful actor. I highly recommended this movie!
| 10/10 | gleefan@ - 41 reviews 11.1.2013 - age: 13-17 |
I thought that it was a really great movie and that it'd be fun for anyone to go to. It wasn't too much of a cheesy or romance movie and it wasn't too show toons. I'd really recommend it!
| 9/10 | stephy@ - 7 reviews 9.1.2013 - age: 18-25 |
Teens with attitude, annoying. The singing didn't match up with the singers mouths or the person supposedly doing the singing. Elizabeth Banks was good though. Plus there was a group of at least ten kids constantly getting up, leaving then coming back every few minutes totally ruining the movie experience. Sure wished I stayed home.
| 5/10 | idonda@ - 35 reviews 9.1.2013 - age: 50+ |
Upbeat, fun and great tunes. Similar to Glee but they are in university.
| 8/10 | greenjenniferwalker@ - 13 reviews 8.1.2013 - age: 36-49 |
Fantastic movie! Could have been a bit more creative with the song selection but still really good. A definite must-see for anyone who is a glee fan.
| 9/10 | rumbleroar@ - 3 reviews 7.1.2013 - age: 13-17 |
I thought it was a good/okay movie- funny, good story, good music. But there was nothing special about it that made it stand out. Still worth seeing though.
| 7/10 | tomboy980980@ - 5 reviews 2.1.2013 - age: 18-25 |
Yes, it is formulaic. Yes, it relies somewhat on gross-out humor. Yes, it is pretty much a full-movie length episode of Glee. And I didn't care. It just works. It is almost as if you can tell they all had a blast making the movie.

You have to be quick to see a sexual comment or gesture, in the movie as it was my reason to see it. But you then get surprises in the movie that ups the ante rate, I'll say it is worth seeing and repeating. Thanks for a good movie!!!

This is a film for teenie-boppers but I liked the singing, especially the harmonies.
| 7/10 | boykoryan@ - 72 reviews 29.12.2012 - age: 26-35 |
Very cliched and stereotypical view of college campus life, and this one club, a music club. Story is weak but the singing is very entertaining and heart-warming especially for this time of year. Happy holidays!

I'm a 23 year old male who isn't into musicals or girly movies. My girlfriend dragged me to this and to be quiet honest... this movie was great. Very witty and funny! I think most guys would enjoy it.

Not much of a plot, but the cappella performances and choreography are wonderful. A fun comedy, filled with laughs.

I'm a little ashamed to say that I loooved that chick flick... great singing... story around was good... not too cheesy... I was smiling all the way through the movie. And dare I say again that all the singing parts of the movie were a total joy to watch... great movie that bright up your week!!!

This movie was so great. It wasn't too girly; but still had me smiling ridiculously throughout (like a girl movie does) I though the jokes were creative, and the soundtrack was fantastic. I would recommend this movie to people of all ages (except maybe the young ones)

I went to the wrong movie and just wasted my Saturday afternoon watching a vapid, story of college acapella groups in competition - (so why was every performance backed by musical score?!!) There were a couple of mildly amusing lines, but the storyline was so corny, predictable and boring. BTW NO-ONE pukes like that, and NO-ONE would lie down and make puke-angels after falling in elephant sized puke puddles. This was typical, stupid Hollywood crap which left me wondering who decides to put good money into making such drivel.
