Very disturbing actually in a scary way that is. It was worth seeing for sure. Kept me screaming a couple of times.

Creeped me out!!! This is my type of movie soo I LOVED IT!!! Not for everyone , some people might find this movie boring because not alot of action it's more of a suspense...

This movie was scary, because the circumstances of it were so random. Worth seeing.

HUGE SPOILERS*** The Strangers was an okay movie. The first 20 minutes very slow, there was very little conversation. It was already a very short storyline so they could have added some things in it to develop the characters a bit. Now I'm assuming that when they said ' because you're home' that maybe it was kinda like the Others, except the couple aren't dead. And maybe the masked people lived there, and thats why she kept asking for Tamara, but really they should have elaborated on that give the viewers a bit more plot, and reasoning. My sister jumped at every loud part or when she saw their masked faces. And another thing, the viewers did see one of the masked faces. The blonde girl that came to the door, that was one of 'them.' They also told you in the beginning the amount of people that were going to die, they said two people died. So when you think about it, the girls survival and grasping for life in the end was also very predictable, because as long as you can count there were two deaths already. But overall it wasn't bad.

As far as horror movies go this thing achieved its purpose and really REALLY scared the life out of me... Horror movies like Friday the 13th and Halloween etc... do NOTHING for me but this movie, perhaps because its based on a true story, petrified me and please rent this and see for yourself.
| 9/10 | isles99@ - 80 reviews 11.12.2008 - age: 26-35 |
It's a good movie [...]. Is it really based on a true story? Cause I would really like to read or see pictures of them since it was just a couple of years that this happened if it really did would you let me know. Thank you.

The thought of having someone terrorize you while you're trapped in your home is scary... but the movie is filled with moments where you want to say "why did they do that? " or "come on... as if!!". Scary though... enough to make me jump. Worth looking into the actual "story" that it was supposedly based on, very funny.
| 6/10 | ambitiousleo@ - 7 reviews 4.11.2008 - age: 26-35 |
The terror in this movie is very psychologically motivated. Unlike in many modern horror movies, the viewer is not a voyeur watching others be butchered. Instead, you are there with the characters, imagining how easily this might happen to you in a place that you had always believed was so ordinary and so familiar. Although not much is revealed about the couple's relationship, you learn that at least one of them is not exactly who he has claimed to be. This makes the idea of masks take on an interesting depth.

It was ok, but it was to much of a slow movie. It could of been much better and scarier.

It is totally awesome the suspense and it was soo intense I would totally wanna watch it again. You guys should all watch it. It isn't the best horror movie but yeah its pretty good.

I think there are people who are into doing the things depicted in this very disturbing and al too possible film. It is kind of like a cautionary tale about living in out of the way places in a way also. I lived in a place like the area depicted in this film and I was always very aware of my surrounding locality, but nothing like what is in the film ever happened there, but it wasnt perfect either.
| 7/10 | knownspace@ - 26 reviews 26.7.2008 - age: 26-35 |
Not very enjoyable. Starts very slow and then just turns into mindless violence. No real story other than a couple gets terrorized. A couple scenes may make you jump but by the last scene you won't care.

Well first of all there were alot of predictable parts. I didn't see why they needed to remove there masks if they didn't even bother showing there true identity. The ending confused me abit. So if I get this straight, Kristen never died. Otherwise I enjoyed it.

Well this movie was BAD, BAD story, BAD acting the only reason I went to see it was for Liv Tyler. I am so glad we got into the movie for free or I would have been really upset paying 12 bucks for this. I feel sorry for anyone that went to pay to see it.

This was so scary. I kept my head in my boyfriends shoulder at the scary parts. It was gory but it was how great of a thriller it was that gave it a 7.
| 7/10 | littlemissprincess4life@ - 23 reviews 8.7.2008 - age: 1-12 |
Kind of the old-fashioned type horror. More intensity than gore. Was enjoyable in a mindless way. Not too long, not too short. Average.

I enjoyed this movie , I like movie's that are based on true stories. This movie drove home a message to my daughter who couldn't comprehend why someone could do this for know apparent reason. The movie was entertaining and keep you on the edge of your seat.

It was an actual scary movie. It was not just something totally fake randomly popping up, these were things that could actually happen and did happen (well some events) it was my favorite scary movie of all time!

Wonderful for a night out. The perfect amount of moments to make you jump and keep you in suspense. The plot draws you in, and has many smart mysterious additions that give you chills and satisfy you need for a good horror.

First of all, what is with the masks? Really? Just because you put a potato sack with cut out eyes, doesn't mean that it's going to make the person scarier. What I would like to know is why the man killer guy has a sack for a mask and his supposed wife and kid killer have these ridiculous doll like masks? Are they special? There is no suspense whatsoever. They kind of just show up and follow the main characters and then they poke them... um, I think you would probably realize a huge guy holding an ax walking behind you, unless you are some of the rare few who have country places without squeaky floors. Liv Tyler has absolutely no personality. Her character drove me nuts with her stupid moves... If someone is chasing you, I doubt screaming "Leave me alone" is really going to stop them. Just to say that the whole movie was just the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. The whole thing makes no sense. The story makes no sense. I think that anyone who really like horror movies will probably think the same. If you get scared easily, and you like cheap scares and you have no concept of what a horror movie should be like, then maybe you will find it somewhat enjoyable. The only thing good about seeing this movie is the fact that you might get a few laughs out of it. It is ridiculously funny at times. I'm just glad that I had free movie passes to go see it and I didn't waste a dime. At least the popcorn was good...

| 6/10 | christiano_apo4@ - first review 21.6.2008 - age: 13-17 |
Use flash back format but because the outcome is given away immediately the rest of the movie had the suspense of a news program. Tyler and Speedman were good though.

I consider myself quite the horror movie fanatic, so I thought it fair that I write a review for "The Strangers". This movie had great potential. The suspense that was created in the opening scenes and the first half - three quarters of the movie was very effective. It was reminiscent of any B 70's horror film, which gave it a nostalgic flare. That is, until the ending, which utterly destroyed, or rather deflated the effect of the film. In summary, let's just say in the beginning I was jumping. But by the end when so and so screams I laughed in disgust. Truly bad, trust me people, unless you are simple you are not going to enjoy this.
| 1/10 | chris.wallace@ - 3 reviews 20.6.2008 - age: 18-25 |
Had its scary moments, but an awful ending. Nothing is explained. Plot was very thin and the characters, especially the "strangers" were not built up so you know a lot about them. Only go if you wanna be scared.

If you hate it you hate it, you love it you love it... unless you are into this genre of movies then you wont like it... I thought it was pretty decent and it did have suspenseful moments in it which were very creepy and the fact the masks where so cheery looking on the girls made it even more creepy... I say it was worth the money:)

This movie kept you on the edge of your seat for sure but the ending sucked so bad that it ruined the whole movie for me. If your jumpy... this movie will hurt your heart but if not much gets to you... see something else.

I don't care what people say, this was a GREAT MOVIE. Especially since its based on real events. It's a horror movie, I got scared. Remember its based on real events - how much scary do you need?
| 8/10 | ponte_s@ - 4 reviews 16.6.2008 - age: 26-35 |
Well the movie was pretty decent, no where close to as good as "the shining" which went about the same way as scaring you without the blood. The only reason this movie was scary was because there was a lot a lot of sudden loud sounds and things that popped up so you would jump a lot. But by far the scariest thing about the movie was how the killers went about it, so casually and like it was a walk in the park, that was the scariest thing. Don't watch this movie.
| 4/10 | hitz_n_bitz@ - 3 reviews 16.6.2008 - age: 13-17 |
An okay movie. There were a couple jumpy scary parts, you know where the music suddenly gets loud but nothing really happens. The characters were annoying mostly because they did such dumb things. I personally found the very ending of the movie disturbing. I would suggest renting this film if you really want to see it!

This movie was so stupid, it is low budget, there is no real story... I love horror movies but this one was wack... the trailer is scarier than the actual movie. If u like horror movies this one will be a big disappointment.
| 4/10 | xxboughettoxx@ - first review 15.6.2008 - age: 18-25 |
Well filmed movie, although disappointed with unexplained ending. And statement at the beginning of the film wrecked any suspense of how things would end.

As a horror movie fan, I was not disappointed. It was classically alarming and left me feeling scared for my own safety! The plot is so disturbing, you will have nightmares. The actors in this one are phenomenal and work well together on screen and the mystery of what's happening leaves you feeling very uneasy... don't miss this one!
