Blade 2 is a meaty, special effects-filled, entrail-infested piece of blood-soaked madness that left me feeling like I wanted to beat the tar out of someone or at least playfight, a feeling I have not experienced since T2. The fighting is fast and well-choreographed, although there a few noticeable CGI Wesley Snipes that irritated me, but that's just nitpciking. The story is not as good as the first Blade, but that was an origin movie; this is a sequel, so there was no need for a lengthy setup. The way they brought Whistler back was a little rushed, but in my books, Blade isn't Blade without Kris Kristofferson; this guy is just a badasz in every movie he's in. Ron Perlman is great too as the leader of the Vampire squad. He has a great rivalry with Snipes. Blade is possibly the best comic book movie franchise and I hope Blade 3 keeps up the tradition. One question: if this movie is rated 16+, how did those 4 kids aged 1-12 get in. Tsk tsk, shame on you!!! Saving Private Ryan wasn't even rated 16+ and that was the goriest, most disturbing movie I've ever seen. Go figure.
