Fairly by-the-book Guy hits rock bottom, meets a chick with a kid story. Jeff Bridges is so convincing as Bad Blake, the rock bottom dude in question, you can practically smell the whiskey and tobacco on him. The first half hour is terrific, then it just gets predictable and boring.
