Every once in a while, the Oscars get it right. Jeff Bridges hones his abilities for this role. You can practically smell the booze in his mouth and the 3rd hand smoke off his hair. Maggie Gyllenhaal keeps up with Jeff in a role that gives her some depth. The soundtrack is inspired and the performances top notch. It does seem to run a tad long but otherwise a great little film about a washed up artist and the people who make a difference in his life.
