Probably one of the best baseball movies out there, and there isn't even much actual baseball in it. It's a movie about the business of baseball, about being innovative and dealing with ridiculous constraints and doing what you think is right no matter what others think of you. Brad Pitt is infinitely watchable in this, Jonah Hill is solid in a rare dramatic role, and Philip Seymour Hoffman is gold in all ten minutes he's in the movie. Sharp dialog, great acting, a good story and a good moral make this a winner. Like Capote, though, by the same director, it's a really quiet movie; eating popcorn might cause you to miss some of the dialog. Have something soft instead.
