Okay, this is based on a true story. But I fail to see who thought the mundane events of this small town and its high school football team's 1988 season would make good subject matter for a big screen motion picture. Nothing remarkable happens, nobody overcomes any overwhelming odds, it's like some bozo decided to base a movie on a book about a typical year in the life of a boring little Texas town where people have nothing better to do than lose their minds over a high school football team. Okay, it was funny, and a bit disturbing, to see how fanatical some of these townspeople are about the game, but I don't know if it warranted a movie. And besides, the movie was presented in typical choppy, jerky camerawork that makes anything hard to follow. It was cut together like a music video. Overall, not a terrible movie, but not great either. Worth it only if you really like football. The Program was better... by far.
